I would prefer a 55g cartridge.

I want to hold eveything constant and compare the target groups against some benchrest shooting I recently did, in which I used bulk Freedom reload 55g.

Thanks

I've been researching for month before I even bought my AR and I see the name Black Hills keep coming up. I think I will buy a few boxes for sighting in my new optics and for competitions.

Black Hills makes great ammo. I've had good accuracy with Fiocchi 50 gr V-Max .223. It's not expensive.

There have been reports of great accuracy from the Gecco ammo (SGAmmo and other places).  And its is pretty inexpensive, too.  I have some on the way for testing.

GECO 55gr fmj and Fed.50gr Tipped Varmint for 100 yd range shooting, Is hands down the most accurate for your money. ( PSA has he Fed. and SGAmmo for the GECO )

I will add, I seriously doubt the GECO fmj acts like a fragmenting M193 bullet.... probably much like the Swiss 5.56 surplus from years ago... very accurate, but no fragmenting. ( that bullet was designed to be more humane )

So range use only for me.

This was from a few weeks ago.

15rds GECO, Scoped 20" SS CHF FF from PSA.... I could tell those three on the left were going to be off from my own fault. Pulled the trigger at the wrong moment.

+1 on the Fiocchi V-Max.  If you're looing for 55 grain, I've had good results with Fiocchi 55 grain FMJ and the IMI M193
