Picked this one up Friday from having the front tight base drilled/pinned, the barrel shortened/threaded and the flash hider pinned/welded to keep it legal length for the butt stock.  Need to get a sling put on it (para cord through the stock/front sight base for the GP strap to clip to and some green/black duct tape to cover the metal snaps on the strap.)

This was my Spikes budget build. Most everything was bought used here off the Equipment Exchange forums or purchased as a blem. Took me over a year to acquire all the parts because Im a cheap ass and didn’t want to pay full price for anything. Never kept track of exact budget, but if I had to guess I spent between $600 and $700 (not including stamps and suppressor).
Spikes lower
Spikes slick side upper
R Guns 4.25” quad rail
Unknown brand 5” barrel with integrated 3-lug (took in on a trade so I don’t know much about it)

Thanks man. Thinking about ditching the PDW style stock... just not comfortable enough to be practical. The gun just sits in the safe and doesn’t get any use for that reason... and I spent too much money for that!

Incase anyone is wondering the length of the SB PDW brace at various settingings I have them below. Before I purchased it I was looking for a comparison like this, hopefully it helps someone out.

Fully collapsed:

Intermediate setting:

Recently finished a 7.5" 9mm build. I have about a 60-90 min work commute into DC and have been working on a car gun kit...you know, for a civil unrest, EMP or zombie type situations. Used an old Mountain Hardware bag in hopes that it doesn't scream "tactical". Mounted gun, ammo and other kit items on the front and back of a Grey Man Rigid Molle Panel. It's pretty slick. Easy to move from bag to bag.

I think I finally have the final configuration.  I'm not saying it's my favorite, but it sure see's daylight a lot more than some of my other SBR's.  Shooting steel on a Sunday morning is a great way to start the day.

Wanted a Tactical Edge RD9, after looking at the price and the components used it was a no-brainer to build it myself. The full build came out a little over $300 cheaper than the MSRP on a RD9 with a better build list.

his rail is a cmt (cross machine Tool)  . i think the shortest rail they make is a bit less than 7"...  Looks like around a 7.5" barrel to me...

Here is my freshly built 9mm for PCC uspsa division. Bought 2 lowers so I can do a pistol build as well.

Put 100 rounds through it with no issues. Perceived recoil when shooting slow(read, one at a time, keeping trigger back after shot, etc) is higher than my dd in 5.56. But, when you start moving the gun quickly, it’s very rhythmic once you get used to it.

As of now, favorite gun to shoot.
