Correct, the barrel length minimum of 16" does not apply to a pistol.

Since you're in Maryland I'd suggest you check in the MD hometown forum. They have some f'd up laws there that people in free states can't even conceive of.

Put a Sig brace on the pistol and you'll have just what you want. The latest letter from the BATF states that holding it to your shoulder does NOT make the pistol into a rifle. Don't call it a SBR.
