Anyone have any idea when these will be available? More pics of this item will be most appreciated!

Which ones? The RIS or the M4 Rails with the locking system from the .308 rails?
J |
are the ones like the AR10 rails heavier that the standard DD rails? Are they the same dimensions (as thin)?
I am not sure. Any of them really. I don't know what the RIS is, but I am interested in the one that has the locking system.
According to SMGLee :

That looks nice....I thought that was an AR10 rail at shot....looks cool.
Do they still have that weird weld mark? |
You mean the one that is on the KAC FF RAS too or does this rail have a weld on the AR10 version I have not heard about?? |
ditto i want one too. Does anyone know if these are available now. I've always like the mounting points of their ar version rails.
The RIS II should be out in a matter of a couple weeks. I have some on order.
The new AR15 Lite Rails (with the bolt-up-plate mount, like the AR10 rails) will be another 2 months, or so. ETA: Fear not, we'll soon have all the relevent data pertaining to these newer models. |
any pics of the RIS 2 ? |
i just noticed that the lower in the first pic had DD on it. could they posiibly be coming out with complete rifle?
I was referring to their older FF models. Is the barrel nut made of Aluminum or steel? |
The current AR10 Lite Rails use a steel barrel nut, as does the RIS II.
Whether or not the AR15 Lite Rails will use steel is unknown to me. My guess is that it will. |
I do hope that it (AR15 Lite) will STILL be as light as or NEARLY as light as the classic DD model. After-all weight still matters for us civvies. :)
I knew there was a reason I hadn't bought a DD rail yet...
Thanks for the info everyone. |
i really can't wait i'm looking forward for this to come out. thanks for the pics.
Just wondering, but will there be 9" version for mid-lengths?
The plan is to offer all the variations of the M4Rail forends with the new Bolt-Up Plate mounting system.
Any idea if they plan on offering the AR15 Lite Rail in lengths like... 14"? |
Cool, I will probably get a rifle length lite one, really like the AR10 bolt up kind. Any front pics? I really like slim rails....... |
I'd also be interested to know how the weight compares to the current models, and if it will fit over a shaved FSB.
Thanks! |
That looks very nice! Does the multi-bolt barrel/rail ring "lock" the barrel nut from getting loose? |
The new DD rail and the new SIR, both RAS2 offerings, so where is the URX?
Cheers |
I'm a little confused:
When will DD have the new revised 7" FFHG (for Carbines) available (with the locking system) for purchase? What is the estimated price? |
Guys, I don't have all the info on these yet. The AR15 Lite Rails are still 8-10 weeks out.
I will have the RIS II in hand much sooner, possibly next week. It will use the same, or nearly the same, Bolt-Up Plate mounting system. I will post copious detailed pics, weights, etc. ASAP. Daniel Defense does sell a proprietary wrench for installation ($40). MSRP for the AR15 Lite Rails are as follows: $325 - 7.0 $375 - 9.0 $425 - 12.0 Both models of the RIS II (M4, A2) retail for $580. |
What's the difference between the Lite Rail and the RIS-II setups? Will the Lite Rail have the ability to FF a legacy M203, or is that a RIS-II specific thing? |
The RIS II has the removable bottom rail, the Lite Rail doesn't. |
So the AR15 Lite Rail are going to replace the current DD lineup?
Is the RIS II just the 2 piece non-FFHG tube or is it a FFHG tube similar to the Troy?
Is the Lite Rail the replacement for the current Daniel Defense FFHG quad-rail HG? |
Both the original M4Rail forends and the new AR15 Lite Rail forends will be offered.
The RIS II is free-floating per the solicitation, but it's not similar to the Troy in any way. |
The RIS II, IIRC, requires mounting a M203 grenade launcher but also must FF the barrel. How is that not similar to the Troy/Samson/MI MRF? I'm intrigued, but for $500-$600, maybe not. |
All I meant was the mounting systems are rather different between the Troy and the DD forends.
Not to go OT or anything, but will the VLTOR VIS be compatible with legacy M203s?
Besides "minimalism", what advantages does the new Bolt-Up Plate mounting system have over the older type?
