There are some really nice sticks on here! It's not as nice as many but this one is mine.
Battle Arms Development - Ambidextrous Safety Selector (B.A.D-A.S.S) Rainier Arms Raptor CH MFT Battlelink Minimalist Stock (have since removed the paracord) GunTec Quad Rail with Ergo Ladder Rail Covers (until free float upgrade) KNS Precision Anti Rotational Pins Magpul MOE-K2 Grip The Sport ran like a champ for the first range trip. 400 rounds downrange with not one hiccup. Going to spend a lot more time with the iron sights before I go the optic route which is going to be a daunting task. I'm just glad there are so many ahead of me to learn from.

Repost for those that lurk the Retro section - but M231 clone content for Page 231 seems necessary.
The whole project was a combination of the talents of a lot of folks on the Retro side of the house, with a custom short buffer/recoil guide system by jhud, some custom gas system parts by braceman to replace missing parts from the original gas block/barrel/gas tube assembly, and a custom receiver end-plate (forget off the top of my head which member fabricated them): 
Still need to get the "PROPERTY OF US GOVT M231" markings engraved at some point in time, but other than that, she's largely complete - might try to get some better pictures of her in her finished form later tonight. ~Augee |

I never seemed to care for using a VFG but trying this one out from Unity. It's direct attach and slightly over 1 oz with hardware. My only complaint is that it's a little shiny - I may matte the surface with some sand paper. I'll see how I like it during a match this weekend.

I finally painted the furniture of my rifle. Been wanting to do it for a while but could never bring myself to do it.
I decided to go with a tan/brown. I kinda flipped the shadows by painting mostly tan on the bottom (lightens the shadows) and brown on top (darkens the light). It doesn't really do much disguising with the rest of the rifle black and the red emblems, but one day I'll bring myself to paint the whole thing.

If you are one who tries to cut back every oz. then it's probably not for you. I don't really get bothered too much by the weight though. |
