it was going to be a "lightweight" build but i was able to pick up all the noveske parts and it turned into a leonidas. the 12" 716 is a drop dead sexy rifle

I spent a lot of time deciding on what I needed and wanted in my ACOG, and this one is perfect for me. Every thing I want, and nothing i don't. Plus, I'm gonna paint it to match the gun. Not sure if this qualifies for FDE, it's actually Field Drab, but it looks pretty good. Just got it finished tonight. Thinking about hitting it with some OD and a mesh laundry bag.

Maybe it's part of the rail. The FDE rail covers. They look like they're billet aluminum or steel.

Ok, my YHM forearm showed up sooner than expected so I got to complete this project early. This is the same rifle I posted a couple pages back when it was a work in progress. Colt M4 w/ many upgrades. Upper, lower, forearm & optic painted with Dark Earth Alumahyde II:
