What does the 'Freedom' designation signify when dealing with barrels, uppers, etc.? Are these items lesser quality? The reason I say 'lesser' is because the CHF machine gun steel barrels from FN never have the 'Freedom' tag.

I could be wrong, but I think the Freedom line typically has the nitrided 4140 barrels that are made by ..?...? not FN..?
Other than that, I believe everything else is the same as their premium line.

Freedom barrels are not chrome lined, but can be 4140 or 4150.

Are the barrels on these: PSA 16" Midlength 5.56 NATO 1:7 Melonite Freedom Upper - with BCG and CH - 507281, 4150 or 4140? Or can it vary within the same product?

It looks like PSA's website description says 4150 now
Can you clarify PSA?

To be frank, the composition differences of 4140 and 4150 is very minimal. You will notice changes in very extreme temperatures, but in a standard environment, the differences are negligible.
