When returning, should I remove the adjustable gas block and compensator I added? And put back on the parts that came on it? Send the mags in with it so you guys can see if it's a mag issue? Both my 10rd and 30rd pmag caused the same issue. Thx |

I cannot see you images, but have you tried placing two American Quarters in the Receiver Extension? This will prevent bolt over-travel. I did this this and had immediate improvement in the bolt traveling too far rearward and striking the lower receiver.

Bought a gen 3 PA-10 upper and lower this week. Still waiting on the lower to get to my ffl, but the upper came today.
@palmettostatearmory Is this normal? Or did someone install an ar15 dust cover by mistake? This is the upper: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen3-pa10-18-mid-length-308-win-1-10-stainless-steel-15-lightweight-m-lok-upper-with-bcg-ch1.html |

While doing these suggestions... I suggest a mag inserted to help catch the bolt, if the bolt catch isn't fully working... that way it won't slam home unexpectedly. First.. make sure the bolt catch has enough travel in the upper to physically catch the bolt face. pull the charging handle all the way back, and manually fully actuate the bolt catch. If you can manually do it, then look and see how much of the face of the bolt is "caught" by the bolt catch. Then try again, but this time just pull the CH and get it to lock back... look to see how much of the bolt face is engaged by the bolt catch. If neither "version" works at all... check your buffer length. if the buffer is to long , ( a 3.25" is one installed )... yours might need ( fully dependent on the carbine length buffer tube setup ) a 2.5" buffer. It is possible your buffer is the incorrect one and is limiting BCG travel. 2.5" is the correct one for a DPMS pattern AR15 carbine length buffer tube... Armalite pattern buffer tubes use a 3.25" buffer...( more specifics "308" Carbine Buffer tube differences I have also seen bolt catches without enough "room" ( in the lower ) to fully engage. I had a Geiselle Maritime BC do this.... it had enough working room.. almost. Simplest fix in that specific case, was to remove some material from the back of the bolt catch on the bottom most inside edge, allowing it to have more movement of the catch. Post more info from your results of the above comments , prior to considering that though. |

Any ETA on the 18" nitride uppers?

Why are almost all of the PA10 barrels stainless? I'd like to buy a PA10, but I want a 18" phosphate barrel with the FSB installed and with rifle length handguards (no rail), or a 16" middy.

View Quote I actually already bought a non-psa barrel I liked on black friday, at this point I am just planning to buy a complete gen3 upper, remove the barrel and add the new one but it has been so long I have to build the funds for that again as I used them for something else in the meantime. It would be awesome to see a complete upper kit minus the barrel but I imagine that won't happen since they will never say what barrels actually should work with their parts. Hopefully I can recoup some of that additional costs by selling the barrel on the EE. |

Well, that's just fantastic.

I was wondering the same thing. Just like the 18" 223 Wylde. So much stainless! I cant do it!

Any plans in the works for gen 3 16" uppers?

PSA,
I know one of the big selling points for the Gen3 uppers is that they come standard with an adjustable gas block in order to mitigate some of the complaints about Gen1/Gen2 PA-10s being "over-gassed". Clearly, this Gen3 upper doesn't have an adjustable gas block: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen3-pa10-18-mid-length-stainless-steel-308-win-1-10-classic-upper-with-bcg-ch.html So what are the major differences with the Gen2? https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-pa10-18-mid-length-stainless-steel-308-win-1-10-upper-with-bcg-and-charging-handle-516445344.html Dimpled barrel? Enhanced extractor? Is it less gassed than the Gen2? Respectfully, butlers |

The adjustable gas block obviously does not apply. Here is a youtube video describing ALL the details about the Gen 3. Failed To Load Title |

I picked up a gen one lower a few years back and put my hands on a gen 1 upper receiver. I grabbed a free-floating handguard of the proper height and barrel nut design. A seller on gun broker is selling PSA PA10 over run barrels so I just ordered one of those. I've got a Charging handle and the PSA PA10 specific lower parts plus a LaRure MBT. Should any PA10 or Toolcraft AR10 BCG work for my build or am I restricted to a certain BCG? |

I'm having a problem with the lock up on my g2 pa10. After i installed a criterion barrel, there is a problem with a loaded cartridge in the chamber its hard to eject by hand. So much that the rifle doesn't function when with the agb turned full open. I also noticed after the barrel install the bcg sticks outod the end of the upper now. Around .020". I'm sure has something to do with the problem. |

Hi all, I'm having a problem with the mags not seating in the PSA lower. Won't snap in.
I've tried 8 different mags and it's an off and on again,,, sometimes all the mags will seat properly, then it goes into one of it's fits and nothing will seat. I extended the mag catch as much as possible to see if anything was underneath. Nothing there, checked for burrs and again nothing. Is there any thing else to check? Bolt HO works fine, mags sometimes won't seat,, even when action is open and bolt is out. Then all of a sudden the mags seat very easy.. When not seating, mag catch doesn't drop into mag, take out mag and catch drops down where it's supposed to. , insert mag and still won't drop in mag.... pulling my beard out on this one. |
