Ok, I know that Vortex states that the BDC is calibrated for 5.56mm. But, I think this would be a good optic for a .308 AR. Surely I can't be the only one to think this? I'm curious if the BDC is even close with M80 ammo.

Bullets, blades, bourbon, and buoyancy. Not necessarily in that order.
You could certainly run the ballistics on any round and firearm that will be utilized and come up with a dope sheet that would work using the reticle pretty well. For example on a 22in AR shooting m80 ball ammo and a 100 yard zero the reticle will be as follows: 1st hash - 210yds 2nd - 335yds 3rd - 465yds 4th - 605 yds.
I just replaced my PA 5x with the Vortex one because I just cannot get into the chevron. It is on my SCAR 17 right now but I have not doped it out more than 25-200m but I like it so far. Wish the adjustments were a little finer is my only complaint.
Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Appreciate that feedback. We'll be sure to let our product team know that you're looking for some finer adjustments on that optic. Glad to hear you're liking it overall!
