I was just thinking about this. The Ft. Hood dillo went over pretty well as I recall. Were there any plans to do something similar for the victims of yesterday's shooting?

honestly with all the tragic events that plague this country on what seems like a weekly basis it would be hard for the man to keep up.
All of the events are significant to say the least but it would be a full time business making dillos for all of the sad events that this country faces. I think Ft Hood stood out a little more because it was on an army base and many military folks hang out here and support Laure. The man himself is a huge supporter (if you didn't already know ) of our troops. |

I'm not suggesting that he do something like this for every little tradgedy, but if ever you were going to pick and choose events of a magnitude suitable for such a treatment, surely this would be among them. |

Watching Fox / Geraldo right now...
Joe Zamudio (sic) ... 24 years old ... told Geraldo he was armed but decided not to whack the sumbitch for obvious safety-to-others reason. Joe said he was sitting on the sumbitch's legs while the other guy looked to Joe like he was trying his damndest to break the sumbitch's arm. Joe is a cool cucumber ... and has a new rifle coming his way as soon as I figure out how to get it to him. If anybody knows what FFL he uses, let me know. M. LaRue |

Didn't know if it seemed dickish Well, there is really no reason for a fundraiser on this anyway. Mark was only trying to help out the military families who were affected by a muslim terrorist with the Ft. Hood thing. There were a lot of people who's livelihood and families were affected in service to this country in that event. There is no need to commemorate every psycho's killing spree with a collectible dillo. Its a damn shame that what happened happened, but it was just some lunatic doing what lunatics do. Gifford's family doesn't need money. Life may be hard for them after this, but I doubt money will be a problem for them. |

Here is some of the story –– with some quotes from Joe. Yep, he is deserving. We sometimes find hero to be an overused word. It usually best fits the people you don't hear about. Unspoken acts of our warfighters, law enforcement, firefighters, etc. Yes, our warfighters do things way beyond this and have sacrificed in ways most of us will never fully understand. But for all of that, there is a difference. They sign up for it, train for it and expect it when going into battle. This guy is at Walgreen's, not a witness or involved in the incident like the others who took action, he's running his errands and hears gunfire. What does he do –– runs towards it and takes immediate action, remains cool and does his part. In his words because "I think this is how we need to react, we're Americans and we need to not be afraid". This guy –– just an ordinary guy –– is a true American hero. Mark –– if you find him, please get him on here. His membership is on me. He'll need to learn about his new hardware. http://www.kgun9.com/Global/story.asp?S=13812679 The Heroes of Tragedy <snip> As Zamudio ran out the Walgreens he said that a man told him to run and that's exactly what he did. But Zamudio ran toward the shooter. "Well I think this is how we need to react. We're Americans and we need to not be afraid" said Zamudio. After using up one magazine clip, Jared Loughner who investigators have named as the shooter, ran out of bullets and tried to reload. That's when Maisch stepped in. "Somebody said 'Grab the magazine'. So, he got it out of his pocket and it ended up on the sidewalk next to his hand but I was able to grab it before he did and get the magazine" said Maisch. Two men took the gunman down and Zamudio says he kept him there. "I put my legs behind his knees and my arm on the small of his back and the other guy was stepping on his neck" described Zamudio. "Did he look like he was in shock?" asked Vo. "I don't think so. His face was calm. His face was even and he had almost a smirk on his face" said Zamudio. When deputies showed up, Zamudio says he watched as they emptied as many as 90 bullets out of the shooter's pockets. Zamudio has no doubt that the shooter had plans of taking more lives. He is saddened over the loss of all the victims, especially 9-year-old Christina Green. "This little girl didn't have a chance to do anything and she gets her pink slip early because this kid's an idiot? This jerk can't deal with his aggressions or cant make friends or whatever his problem was that he has to come out here and ruin nineteen families?" said Zamudio. "If you could say something to him today, what would you say?" asked Vo. "I'm glad I didn't shoot you. He has to pay for it. He has to look everyone in the eye. Has to look at all those mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters." |

Truthfully, I'm a little weary of what went down at the World Trade Centers ... First a billion dollars poured in for the victim's fund from Joe and Jolene Citizen across America ... the victim's got lawyers and started fighting over it. Then the responders lawyered-up, they was wheezing, not from the cigarettes they smoked , but from the dust from the Trade Centers ... Soldier's don't get to lawyer-up and become millionaires due to whatever the attorneys could juice-up - they'd call it faulty armor, inadequate bullets, poor communication equimpent, you name it, they'd find stuff to bitch and take the case over. So, since I was planning on doing it anyhow, from this day forth, when we find a qualified citizen that went above and beyond to help apprehend axxholes, we're gonna give 'em a little something. We had one here in Austin about a year ago, it's still tied up in court or I'd of stepped-in and presented his rifle by now ... it's coming, along with the 911 tape he was on trying to outflank the bastards. Anyhow, Joe certainly qualifies, and his CCW is icing on the cake. Mark |

LaRue Mark maybe you should re-think that: Mr. Zamudio also believes, however, that gun laws need to be tightened—though he's not very optimistic that will happen. "Gun laws are a joke. I know where you can get a gun for $100 out of a trunk. It's never going to change. The only people gun laws are going to affect are you and me." I read that as more of a comment that the only thing that laws do is to hamper the law-abiding citizen. The trunk gun seems to be his way of saying that, legal or not, a criminal will get a gun. The first line just appears to be editorial framing, to "temper" his comment to the writer's way of thinking. ETA, ...cause the WSJ author is a prick... |

Joe is a cool cucumber ... and has a new rifle coming his way as soon as I figure out how to get it to him. If anybody knows what FFL he uses, let me know. M. LaRue While I appreciate him stepping in and helping, what's with the "We need more gun control" talk or is he saying that gun laws do shit to protect anyone? Mr. Zamudio also believes, however, that gun laws need to be tightened—though he's not very optimistic that will happen. "Gun laws are a joke. I know where you can get a gun for $100 out of a trunk. It's never going to change. The only people gun laws are going to affect are you and me." link Just more bullshit from the msm. What Mr. Zamudio said is actually spot on. Gun laws are a joke, and there will always be a supply regardless of legality.
