Got to try out my latest AR build with a LaRue PredatAR barrel. I was just standing at about 20 yards or so, but the rifle was grouping nicely. I'm still not sure if I am capable of 1MOA, but I'm certain my rifle is.

Holy shit. Larue is taking over.
Can't seem to get enough of the other barrels mfgs on the board. I am going to leave your comments so that others can understand. The purpose of this thread is to post entries in the One MOA Contest. If you want to discuss different brands of barrels, please start another thread. Thanks. Old_Painless |

View Quote I would reshoot it but all my range time (almost none) and ammo is going towards a DMR match series. After the series is done I'll try the MOA challenge again. I will need to develop a new load with a new bullet. I've formed the opinion that the 77TMK is only capable of .5 MOA at the very best. My friend's desert tech with .223 conversion, which will smoke my AR any day with 77smk doesn't shoot any more accurately than mine when fed TMK. I think with a better bullet, I can reclaim second but doubt I'll knock off Mike P. Ironically by the time I get to reshoot it, I may have shot out this krieger and be on my Larue barrel. |

Shoot, I can't even outshoot that target again since I sold the upper! lol. I've had a few come VERY close lately, like the 260 Rem tOBR I've been shooting and I think could make it near there, but that upper was just something special.
I've got a few other manufacturers barrels I can attempt to get up there, but a majority of my rifles are either full Larue or built around Larue barrels. The performance at their price point, especially when on sale is just fantastic. I wish I could change some of my other calibers to Larue barrels. (300, 6.5G, 6.5CM) I recently listed my 6.5CM rifle for sale unfortunately as I haven't given it any attention since the 260 came and could use some cash in my pocket. It's a solid .4-.6 moa rifle, but with a Larue 6.5 Creedmoor barrel I think it would have renewed interest from me. ETA: Sorry OP, just saw the edit above. I will make it a point to shoot the MOA all day again this weekend for you guys. Maybe with the 260 or 6.5G. |
