Going to be staying on Bolivar Peninsula. Anyone fish that area?

get a bit further out and you'll run into the sharks.

Take the ferry across from Galveston to Bolivar, then keep driving all the way down towards High Island, its about 20 miles or so. The beach will be on the right hand side. Lots of people camp/park there and fish the surf for bull reds and sharks. Quite a few kayakers put in there and paddle out a couple miles too.

caught this little guy on the east end of Galveston, fishing the ship channel just past where that big lagoon empties out.
