Funny...I thought that's exactly what we were doing.

It's starting to sound like a broken record around here.

I just checked some ammo prices at Sportsman's Guide, and they don't appear to have gone up.

My local gun store's ammo(at least the 223/556 stuff I shop) has gone down over the past month.  Today was the lowest I've seen in months(on their prices-which are not bad) on the fresh stock.

Lowers are cheaper then most online retailers after you add the FFL fee now.

I bet the places you linked as being "gougers" are still selling every item they have for the new price.

Even if you go to their site they have messages about delays on orders/phone calls etc...due to increased sales.

their nhmtg went up to 14.99 from 12.99 (i know i bought some a few weeks ago)

their cprods are all running for 11.99/12.99 (they used to be 9.99/10.99(follower variants)

their d&h's used to be 9.99 and also a closeout 9.99 d&h, they are all up 2$,

everything is up 2$ from shit i have bought/looked at in recent weeks. that is not election sale shit

There is no ban. I've seen vendors and distributors run out of products before. Did
they turn around and jack up the prices? Nope. So now, the excuse is Supply and
Demand? If that is the case, then there are some higher-end barrels out there that
should be about 10K an inch.

I want to see if some of the smaller shops who did not raise prices on lowers will run out and won't be able to restock unless they pay more for the new lowers. Or conversely, fail to restock because they won't pay any additional increase in cost.

There isn't a one of you that HAVE to have a new lower or three, you just WANT it, anyone can charge anything they want for what they own but you certainly don't have to pay it if you don't want to.

ARFcommers and capitalism, ne'er the twain shall meet it seems.

However, I ordered BEFORE the election from certain companies.

DON'T BUY INTO THE PANIC!

Quit fueling the fire, and let retailers sit on their overinflated prices.

So far no bill has been introduced/proposed/or sent to committee.

The price gouging is based on pure fear. There's no legitimate or logical reason to horde anything (especially at these prices) right now.

Let the gougers choke on their inventory. Within a month or two they'll likely have difficulty making payroll and will be forced to bring prices down to more realistic levels.

Sorry Guys. Don't be mad at us our suppliers doubled their price over night there is NOTHING we can do about it. If you have any suggestions let us know this is going to be a problem with every MFG. If you don't believe us just look around. The demand is so high our suppliers want to cut us off completely.

Dear Customers,

Spike’s Tactical has been supporting the AR15 community since 2001. We have done group buys for ar15.com and for local gun clubs. We are continuously trying to give you the best gun at the best price and we are in trying times right now. Products and shipping are costing us more every day. Now that we are looking at having new gun laws everyone is buying as many guns as they can while they are still legal. Most manufacturers are out of stock. Many of you will remember when pre-ban stripped lowers were going for $600-800, we hope it doesn’t go to that extreme. Spike has been advising customers to buy as many lowers as they can and has had signs at local gun shows stating to buy lowers now while you still can. Our choice didn’t win and we have a Democratic house now and any new law that goes before the House will probably be approved. Be prepared, we are trying our best here.

Once again, get lowers while you can.

-Spike

Bull shit.  There is no way a supplier increased their prices 50% over night.  If they did then Spikes should tell them to go to hell.

Spikes is free to lie and I am free to spend my money someplace else.

My local Academy has been selling Monarch 7.62X39 for 2.99 a box. The sale sign was marked December 17th when I picked some up November 3rd. I went back into day November 5th and they pulled the sale sign down and replaced it with a new sign: Priced as is: which is regular priced at 4.88 a box. They have about a case on the shelf and no one was buying it.

Has anyone else seen this at their local Academy?

I'm going back tomorrow as a scott to see if it's still regualr price and how much they have in stock.

Have any of you geniuses noticed the fact that many, many suppliers have been totally out of stuff like ammo and mags? This means that they are selling the fuck out of everything! Why would prices not go up?

They can't even keep the shit in stock. Their suppliers can't give them product fast enough.

Cheaper than dirt is a bunch of cock suckers, but do we really know how much of this was in the works anyway? Does a $10 increase in price mean price gouging?

I am buying because I am absolutely confident that prices are going up no matter how much you guys bitch. Grow up and accept that a lot of this is market forces. The market will continue to buy at slightly higher prices and you can't do anything about it.

by the way, cheaper than dirt is a bunch of fucksticks and I will never, ever buy from them again. You can't justify a %50 increase on wolf ammo. I am happy to know about their price increases, but its there business. If they sell at that stupid price, they have stupid customers. Doesn't affect me at all.

Last weekend, I bought 11 pmags at the gun show for $16 each. Why? Because the $13 that everyone is back ordering were not available. I did not get gouged. I was willing to pay more to hedge against an even worse price increase.  There were Pmags for $20 there. I chose not to buy for that much. Pretty damn easy.

Huh...so is it still rape if I only give her the tip?

In other words, where does one draw the line? 50% arbitrary increase in ammo is a no go but a $50 increase overnight (and being caught lying over the circumstances) isn't suspect?

Bottom line is that the companies listed on Page One have arbitrarily raised their prices to turn a quick buck at our expense. Good for them. We're just calling them on it.

What the naysayers in this thread fail to grasp is that capitalism/free market is a two way street. They're perfectly free to raise their prices to $200 per mag or give them away for free: whatever.

We're perfectly free to take note of who does what and spend accordingly.

Why is that so difficult for some to grasp?
