I don't see a reason in this. Read through the draft and it is a bunch of whining. Please don't ban my AR15, I'm a retired police officer who enjoys shooting- blah blah blah. Look they don't give a shit who you are or what gun you like. They don't trust you so they don't want you being able to stand up to their controlling you.

Simple letters need to be sent as follows:

"Further legislation against the 2nd Amendment will be considered an act of war. Your name, office, and district will be noted according to how you vote."

Guys I've called, wrote letters, faxed all my congress critters.  Just trying to add as much fuel to this fire as possible.  Don't think that this is the only thing i've done

On-line petitions are a waste of time guys. They make you feel as if you've accomplished something when you actually haven't. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY pays attention to on-line petitions.

Trust me on this... I've been fighting the good fight for the past 13 years, so I have a bit of a handle on how to get things done.

Snail mail, phone calls, & in office visits are the only effective ways to get your Reps. attention! Follow these methods up with E-mails, wait a little while, then repeat the whole process ad infinitum. If your Rep. is one of the good guys or is on the fence, a token (or not so token) campaign contribution can also help them take you seriously.

If you are serious about defeating the new AW ban folks, spend the time & effort to do it right!

done, and while I somewhat agree w/ NYPatriot-- I do write, call, and donate a bunch of $$ to the appropriate groups.  What harm can come from signing an online petition?  I bet if we reached the 1,000,000 signature goal that it would be for the better, rather than the worse.

I SERIOUSLY hope your joking.  That is the kind of lunatic shit that they use to help justify them banning guns.

Before you post, you'all should go to the "care2".com website.
They look and smell very leftwing. I have the feeling, and its just a feeling, they
dont have our interests in mind. They seem to be big into the global warming
issues, homeless issues, Dolphins, NARAL,...etc bla bla bla. Even a "bushgreenwatch" section.
If someone knows more about them, please post.
I think I will stick to the letter campaign to congress for the time being.
YMMV

Technically an online pole does nothing.

BUT maybe it helps us.

If nothing else it can raise our spirits to see how many people like us are out there.

It can be some what of a Pep Rally to get us moving along on our true agenda of
writing our reps and getting involved.

Sometimes It takes knowing your not alone in the fight to get the fight started.

It certainly can't hurt us.  I called my reps again this morning including Artur Davis who is on the House Judiciary Committee.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Fuck, but I hate petitionsite.

All of these people are "signing" a petition that's worth the paper it's printed on.  "But it's online... it isn't printed on paper!"  Exactly...

Tell all of those people to do something that might be useful, like write a letter to their legislators.  But nobody in power pays the slightest attention to online petitions... they're too-easily forged or stacked, and take too little effort.

If you aren't going to pick up a phone or write a letter, don't waaste your time encouraging other people to take the "easy way out" and also not contribute anything.

Go Away

WE know !!!!!

The more people see that others in this country are like us,
the more willing people are to make the effort to write, pick up the phone and participate.
The petition is a NOTE TO SELF and a note to others to say
Hey, I do care.

Pessimists like you piss me off.
