Quoted: Tantos are great utility knives. Having two defined cutting angles and effectively two tips in one blade was a lifesaver when I was a shipping manager back in the day. Smooth brains hate sharpening them because they way overthink it though. I nominate anything with a front flipper. “Let’s make a flipper that’s harder to open on purpose, easier to open by accident, and requires you to grip the knife in the most unnatural way possible.” View Quote I like flippers - but agree 100% on the tanto thing. My favorite fishing knife is a tanto - it's like a wharncliffe or sheepsfoot, so great for cutting rope or line, but with an extra flat edge for precision work or work where you need a flat edge at a high angle and it has a usable, strong point. On the OP's Delica - those are great knives when they have a straight edge. I've never really found serrated edges all that useful, and the half-serrated edge is stupid - it's like you take a 3 inch blade and turn it into two 1.5" blades. So if OP meant that half-serrated knives are dumb, I 100% agree. |

Considering all the designs that exist for amazing fighting knives... and how many look like a karambit still think it's 'tarded plus if I buy something like Yojimbo 2 I can still use it for basic knife stuff without looking like I blade at 45 in a walmart |

It's self-dulling, the pivot points are weak, it's not any more compact when stowed... But the concept is awesome. So I love it despite its overcomplex nonsense View Quote I had one of those!
