Interested to see what Arfcom thinks. In some of the threads with the news about removal it seems some support it.

Whatever side you are on or feel compassion for, its part of our history.

Those who fail to learn from history....
So why white wash it? Wait, isn't white washing racist? |
|
In general, no. But there are some instances where I believe the relocation of those monuments has been/is justified.
|
|
No different than ISIS destroying historical ruins and such in the middle east. I think it's incredibly stupid here.
|

No. Can't act like it never happened... it's a part of our country... American History.

There was a film crew in New Orleans asking
hundreds of local high school students how they felt about the monuments about a year ago. The majority of the HS students they interviewed had no idea who was on the monuments and many couldn't even explain what role Robert E. Lee played in the Civil War. |

I'm a Yankee and I even think it's fucking stupid. No, they should be left in place.

The Taliban would be proud of what the, hair plugged, cock smoker mayor has done down in NOLA.

Exactly. We should erect a monument for the 1980 USSR hockey team for their silver medal performance against the US in the Olympics. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Of course I support it. Just like I support ISIS blowing up ruins
|
|
Absolutely. I've always supported the removal of Confederate monuments from New Hampshire.

View Quote Same with people that couldn't name the Vice President, number of Justices on the Supreme Court,or what any of the first ten Amendments to the Constitution were. I'm sure it has nothing to do with where we are and where we are headed though................... |

I'm in favor of doing anything and everything to piss off the South enough to rise again.

YES !!!! You is races if you be thinken if the nazi white superemcay flag should be up.

The removal of Confederate statues and place names is essentially spearheaded by ignorant liberals who do not understand history and is mostly just virtue signaling on their part and shows a gross lack of understanding about this country.

OP the only people for the removal are the same idiots who think the North fought to free the slaves.

I dislike removing history, but i find it funny democrats are removing democrats.

Not a very popular thing to say in GD, but my family fought for the Union. Even so, I think the removal of confederate history is childish and dangerous.
Even if the confederacy was actually the rebellion built on evil that these people see it as, that would make it even more important to preserve. I find it unsettling the way Japan brushes WW2 under the rug. |
|
The monuments aren't ancient ruins.
I don't really care either way. |
|
This born and raised Yankee doesn't say no........
He says FUCK NO!!! on removing them. |
