If half of the ME was Greater Kurdistan and the other half was Greater Israel, the world would be a much better place. This Sunni vs Shia shit is a deadend.

From everything I've read about the Kurds they are well led, organized, trained, disciplined----excellent people and soldiers. . . Only downside is certain percentage/elements of them are Communists,---- supposedly. Or at least were. . . Or at least were funded/armed by Russia---at one time or another. . . Reminds me of Chinese Communist troops during the 40's---they were much better soldiers than those fighting for Chiang Kai-Shek. . . according to most sources. |

That building is not close and you can still see targets running around. But, we know the GD folks have no problem sniping a running man at 600 yds, with varying barriers by the target. They all seem to be aiming and taking their time. Seems like some decent attempts at marksmanship, rather than the typical spray and pray. |

I guess supporting communist Muslims is somewhat better than ISIS, but long term is bad juju.

Those guys have gotten training. I saw aimed semi auto fire and use of safety's on at least one shooter with an M16. The guys at the start looked almost like western forces. Thanks for posting that.

On the bridge, yes it appears they're taking aimed shots (including the guy with a scope but no buttstock on his AK pistol) however earlier they're doing the Liberian Limbo with bending over with the gun raised above their head, firing blind ahead. There's also a 3:1 ratio of casual spectators just on the side of the bridge watching the five guys do all the shooting. Must not have been that dangerous of an area, or these people are much dumber than I had thought. |

Anyone remember watching the early videos of the Kurds?
crap AK's dancing around beat up Yota trucks begging for resources. . . . . at some point someone got pretty fucking serious about arming them. It's night and day from some of the liveleak videos I watched just a year or two ago |

At least the AK and to a lesser extent M16 series are common there enough to probably scrounge up parts. |

I'm sure Western forces would do better but I'm not sure how quickly. Reading the accounts of Western volunteers, the Kurds lack proper air support and combined arms. I remember reading the account of one American who claimed he was a vet of Iraq/Afghanistan who said he didn't realize how hard fighting is when you can't call in air or armored support when you need it. |
