your first gun never changes the first gun that YOU bought, not got given, inherited or otherwise me: 1994, gun show, fighting the fresh AWB, $675 for a beretta 92FS stainless still have the gun, probably doesn't have 200rds through it and it'll go to my son got a few beretta 92 police trade ins that i shoot the shit out of though, one with a threaded bbl and an osprey living on it |

Marlin 795 in 22lr
Bought it the day I turned 18 and have been shooting ever since. My mom is an antigun kinda person. I've always loved shooting with my uncles and cousins. |
Bought myself a glock 31c when I graduated college in 2001....it's a shame my agency won't let me carry .357 sig.
S&W mdl. 36 and a colt commander. Same day same store, thinking it was 125.00 For both.
MAK-90. Paid $235 NIB in 1994.
Still one of my favorite shooters. (I have never "bought" an AR. I have built all mine. The first in 1994) |
The day of my 21st birthday in 1994...Smith and Wesson model 411--.40 with 11 round capacity mags. Sold it when my first child was a toddler at my wife's request.

Interarms Mark X in .22-250 Rem. I loved that rifle and shot targets and P-dogs every day. I didn't work until 3PM.
Between 50gr Ballistic Tips, Rem 9 1/2 primers, Ramshot Big Game, and gas for my '95 F150 I didn't have a dime left come pay day. But man did I have some fun. I couldn't afford to rebarrel it so I traded it off on a Rem 721 in .30-06 right before deer season. I was 15 when I bought it IIRC. |
Colt 1991A1 at the Mainside PX on Camp Pendelton. Had it on layaway for a few months before finally owning it. That was 1993.
Huge disappointment. That should have been the last Colt I bought but I bought one more |
Early 90's, Ruger m77 mk1 7mm Rem Mag, Leupold 3-9 x 40. $400
Typical hunting rifle. Still have it. |
Polytech AKS-762 spiker, brand new in 1989. Still have it. I was 18.
A Ruger 10/22 when I was 18. I still have it, too. I keep saying I am going to accurize it and toss on a threaded bull barrel.
Browning A-Bolt II with BOSS in .270. I was 14 at that time. My dad bought me the scope for it.
I still have the rifle. It'll be the last rifle I'll give up. I'd rather give up all of my ARs and pistols first. Big sentimental value to me. Killed so many deer with it and a lot of memories. |
A Savage 110 in 30-06. My mom had to fill out the paperwork. I still have it.
I come to GD to beg for forgiveness and confess that my first gun was..........la Hi Point 9 mm. I was young, poor, and foolish. However, I did not have it for very long before I moved up to a Ruger and then a Glock . Go ahead, give it to me.
Sig 229 in 40 S&W I carried it IWB for 2 years before I realized that a ccw firearm isn't typically that big. Still have it. Probably always will.

SKS with an unopened thousand round case of norinco ammo for $200

Is it bad that I have no idea what the first gun I bought was?
I'm thinking it was an AK...? |
Weatherby Vanguard in 30-06
Bought it in 1993 when I turned 18. Still have it too. |
S&W Sd9VE. While I was in college, with my Bush economic stimulus check.
I don't remember the manufacturer but it was a .410 bolt action shotgun that held 2 in the magazine. I think I was in 6th grade. I bought it from another kid at my deer camp with money I saved mowing yards during the summer. This would have been around 1981 I think.
A WW11 Jap 7.7 with bayonet and NCO samurai sword about 1976-77 for $135, I was 12 years old my dad had to pick it up. A bit of a surprise for him when I called from a show to pick up my new gun.
I wanted a Luger but they were running a $100 more then |
Smith & Wesson Model 14 K-38 Target Masterpiece. $102 and change brand new. My Dad had to actually buy it from the dealer and we then transferred it to me at the Sheriff's department (Michigan and their "Safety" inspection / registration ) due to the fact that I was 18. No talk of straw purchases, the deputy that handled the transfer was the one who told us how to handle it.

First gun I bought was a Walnut stocked Ruger 77/22. Used all my lawn mowing money for it when I was around 7th or 8th grade. I guess technically my dad bought it but I paid for it
I still have it. Great little .22 rifle. |
M44 for $99 at Sports Authority. Should have bought a dozen of them.
Winchester Model 1400 12 ga.
Bought it in 1967 when I was in high school. I still have it. |
DPMS-AP4 .223 in the spring of 2008.
I saw the primaries, hated McShitStain, and knew which way the country was going. |
