I beat down an escaping prisoner who was disarming a cop in 1998.
I'm off this year |

Turkey fryer accidents kicking off in 5.4.3.2.1
I'll get at least one call from the medical examiner tomorrow after someone decides being alone on thanksgiving means they should do themselves in. |
|
|
God bless each and every one of you. I've finally moved up the seniority totem pole to the point that I can get holidays off in my agency. I remember.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys. Be safe. |

I am about to get off a 24 in a hour. So it sort of counts (and I ran all night long)

I got out of the fire/EMS world a few years back. There are many days that I miss it.
Today is not one of them. |
|
Sipping coffee in bed.
Just heard the bus running code 3 to something. Have fun today, fellas. No code browns! |
|
the correct term is ED
and Code black here is Bomb threat, that stupid show on CBS confuses people. |
|
I was suppose to be on the rig today but I have family in town so I switched out with somebody. My partner is pissed.
Gonna drop by the station and say Hello later. |
|
Just got off at 0600. Couple of SI's, one stabbing and assorted vagrants.
|
|
|
Not today. Will be Christmas Eve though. Have baby duty today. The wife is working.
|

Got off at 0700. I work security at a level 2 trauma center. There was almost nothing last night. One verbally combative pysch case that I got called to. I talked that one down and got the patient to listen to the staff.
Medical side had a couple critical medical patients, but nothing to bad. All in all one of the quietest nights since I started working there. |

Bet they have headaches, toothaches, and kidney stones View Quote Those are worse days than the actual holiday, because NOBODY wants to be in the hospital on the holiday. Instead, they put off their ER visit until they next day, by which point their CHF/Pneumonia/cellulitis/Chest-Pain/Toothache/Back-pain is even WORSE. Most people only come to the hospital on Thanksgiving/Christmas day if they're literally dying. The weekend after is always worse. |

Not on the ambulance, but will be chasing them around on the Engine today.

I think they had to tie down 9 last night, 2 employee injury reports, 2 staff assaults and Incident reports for miles. The Doc's were handing out ativan, haldol and giodon like it was candy. Occasionally I'm glad I got moved to days. |

Believe it or not, most of our EMS calls today will be the result of domestics during dinner. If we're going to catch a working fire, it'll be before noon. |

After 19 years of it, that's probably the number one thing that I do not miss about being on shift. Been on the railroad for a little over 3 years now and haven't worked a major holiday yet. To all of you on shift today, thanks for your dedication and I hope you get an uninterrupted meal later.
