Yes, it's retarded fast, but this video shows that the McLaren P1 apparently can go into Plaid Speed...

Boasting what seems to be more than an extra 250 horses and the lack of a second chubby Texan, the P1 Michael Johnson's itself from the Z06 on the straights
(and I am a Corvette fan, trust me)

I think the pissing match between McLaren and Ferrari about letting Top Gear test the two cars is hilarious. Ferrari is being a little bitch about it.

Supposedly some Arab has a P1, 918 and a LaFerrari and is going to let them run the track with his cars.

Of course. It's just cool to see them in their natural habitat and driven by non-industry folk.
I would like to see a MotoGP bike vs a production 1000. It's still cool.

If anything, I think the video serves as a strong testament to how good the Z06 is on the track, under braking and in the turns

The readout of how fast the Z06 was going, superimposed over how fast the P1 was leaving it behind, was eye-opening.

The Z06 IS fast... crazy fast. The P1 (and other new megahybrids from Porsche and Ferrari) and just fucking incredible.

driving skills aside when they got on a straightaway I think it was pretty obvious how quick the Mclaren is leaving the Z06 in its wake...wow....ETA:not a fair comparison...in our next video we will compare a Nascar stock car to the team Mercedes F1 car

ETA2:I just watched the whole video and the Mclaren driver couldn't have made it more than a couple of laps without completely losing his brakes he was on the binders non -stop.......at the 4:00 mark though he leaves the Corvette so far behind they lost sight of him...lol

The Mclaren driver is awful but it doesnt take a lot of skill to put your foot in it....his brakes should have been gone by a couple of laps tops ..anybody know about active traction control on that model?

Still cool to see a dude taking it to something more than the local Cars and Coffee.

Back in 09, dad and I went to the Nurburgring. Unfortunately, with late planning, the whole time we were there it was closed for private track practice (no M 'ring Taxi

), but we did get to see some incredible cars hammer it out. Best part was at the gas station after and seeing a Carrera GT pull up covered in rain water with grimy wheels from brake dust and a nose covered in rubber from the track.
