I like the Bauer 25 (stainless US Made version of the Baby Browning) and the Beretta 950.
Of course you won't go wrong with either the TPH or the Seecamp I use Blue Glasers or Winchester XP (Expanding Points) in mine those are a Hollowpoint with a steel BB in the center of the cavity. |

I have my grandfather's Beretta 418 and it is a well made little thing.
He carried it for years, then my dad did, and then so did I. I carry something different now, but back in the days of little choice, it was better than nothing. |

My old man's favorite .25 story was from a shooting call in his rookie days. Late night, shots fired, etc. He pulls up to the scene, gets out, and sees a guy sitting on the curb, head in his hands, sobbing and saying "the bitch done shot me..." Dad shines his maglite down on the guys to see his face and hands are covered in blood. Turns out his girlfriend mag-dumped a .25 into his head; the bullets deflected off his skull and slid under his scalp. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I have a Bauer and a Spanish "non-Astra" Colt clone.
I vote 1908 Colt, or 1905 FN browning. The Colt is a copy of the FN. The Colt Junior was made in Spain under contract for Colt. It is the same gun as the Astra Cub. |

I've never owned a 25, but I wish I hadn't sold my PP in 32acp.

Cheap shooting the .25 ACP: use lead shot of the appropriate size, with just the primer or use some powder too.
The shot needs to be crimped into the case, use the crimping feature of the seating die. Cases will need to be resized every few shots. For a cheap heavier bullet, use the next size larger shot, lube it and size it in a .25 sizing die. An alternative is to use .25 caliber air rifle pellets. Careful, primer only loads can do some damage. |

Easy: German-made Walther TPH. I had one-- it came with a 15m test target with a 1" test-fired group of 5 or 6 shots. I could easily hit clay pigeons on a berm at 15-20yrds. If you're stuck with a .25ACP or 6,35mm, you need it laser accurate.
Never should have sold it.... I may have tripled my money, but it's one gun I miss |

I always heard good stuff about the Seecamp from their owners and thanks to GD for the heads up on the Astra Cub!
FWIW, I had a late friend who was a CIA paramilitary officer. He told me they acquired .25 ACP barrels that were threaded to fit on to Mk 31 pen flare launchers. They were intended to be used as a last ditch weapon at contact distance. He wasn't familiar with one ever being used in the field, but they went bang every time he test fired one. BTW, don't attempt this at home as the ATF frowns heavily upon it. |

25ACP...
22LR would be a better choice... But I'm not saying its a good choice either. |

I have a old FIE Titan, chrome finish, says made in Italy but I believe they were imported and assembled in Florida by FIE but I really don't have a clue.
While I haven't shot it as regularly as my other pistols when I have it always functions reliably and is fairly accurate. Yes I confess I have carried it when nothing else was appropriate for the clothing or conditions. I have a little belt holster that looks like a cell phone case, its fits perfectly along with two additional Magazines in the bottom. For CC purposes I keep it loaded with Hornady XTP-HP, it seems to feed these fine in mine. That's the only .25 I have any experience with and for what it is I don't have any complaints. |

How do the Taurus pistols in 25 ACP. stack up?? For self defense, I'd trust a 22lr over 25acp. Why? .25 ACP cycles more reliably and has more reliable ignition. The difference downrange between the two is negligible. The former means .25 ACP is a better choice if you had to choose between the two. |

Didn't that executioner of Stalin use a 25acp?
Killed 10000 people with shots to the back of the neck. I want to say that was a Walther. |

I have around 6 baby browning pistols. Obviously I love those little things for some reason. Although I have carried one before a few times I don't like to because I really don't want one damaged and also with the size it's very easy to get slide bit.

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Didn't that executioner of Stalin use a 25acp? Killed 10000 people with shots to the back of the neck. I want to say that was a Walther. .32 PPK Blokhin favoured the 7.65 mm Walther PPK pistol, a gun which was being used for all the mass executions. For Blokhin, it didn’t have as much of a kickback as other guns, which meant less pain in his wrist after performing hundreds of executions every day. The pistols also rarely misfired, which meant the victims could be killed with one shot nearly every time someone pulled the trigger. For the Soviet government, the pistols were favoured because they were the make carried by German officers. In the event that the mass graves were discovered, the bodies would contain bullets from a German-style pistol and the Soviets could deny responsibility for the deaths. |

One thing I find interesting is that Hans Ulrich Rudel carried a .25 as his sidearm during WWII.

Seems like every time mouseguns come up, someone does the "hurr hurr hurr wudja wanna be shot wit' one? Must be good, then! Hurr hurr hurr!" argument. I wouldn't want to be shot with a BB gun; WTF does that prove? I certainly hope all my enemies choose BB guns or mouseguns, while I stick with .357 or .45 ACP. |
