is this going to be Lost in Space without the robot or that little whinny chick?

Despite the, "We killed the Earth and need to find another place to fuck up", message, it looks good.
That robot looks pretty cool too. |

Nolan + Zimmer = Win |

I've never seen a Nolan film that I didn't like. Plus, anyone who thinks he's some sort of weird rabid leftist clearly didn't watch the 3rd Batman film.

Plan to see this movie, based on the other comments.
I thought it might be some kind of 'Hollywood' statement type of movie, but ARFCOM's Critics seem to give it a 'thumbs-up', so I'm gonna check it out. Thanks, again, ARFCOM GD... |

Who's going to see it? I would see it opening night if there was an IMAX nearby... but the closest one is 2 hours away... I might drive there anyway Thursday night.

It sounds like the backstory to EVE Online taken to the big scream is what it sounds like.

I kind of want to see it... but I'm waiting to hear some initial reviews first because Matthew McConaughey is pretty hit or miss with me.

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/nov/04/-sp-christopher-nolan-interstellar-rebooted-blockbuster
The deal that Paramount and Warner Bros negotiated was anomalous to say the least. For the right to distribute Interstellar internationally, Warner Bros traded the rights for two of their franchises, Friday the 13th and South Park, plus “a to-be-determined A-list Warners property”, while its subsidiary, Legendary, agreed to trade Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for a further piece of the pie. To say this disregards the reigning economic logic of modern Hollywood is not quite right – it reverses the normal logic by which Hollywood operates. Franchises are the lifeblood of the studios. For Warner Bros to hand over the rights to two of its well-known properties, representing money in the bank, for the opportunity to take a spin on an original idea – a film with no sequel potential and few merchandising opportunities, based on the dimly understood recesses of quantum physics – speaks both to the value placed by the studios on Nolan, and also the extent to which he has become a franchise unto himself. Like Spielberg and James Cameron before him, Nolan is one of only a handful of film-makers who can walk into a studio with an idea and exit with $200m to make it. Nolan’s movies have grossed more than $3.5bn worldwide, and his last four films have come in under budget. When Interstellar was finished, Nolan returned what he called a “substantial” amount of money to Paramount. View Quote |

Looks good...
At least Hollyweird didn't release it the same time Gravity came out. Seems they do two or three same based type movies and then release them at the same time... |

It looks like it has possibilities.
I'll see it this weekend. |

In the trailer he said "say goodbye to our solar system and goodbye to our galaxy". Intergalactic space travel in the near future? Yea, right. That is a credible scenario.

Just saw it.
Long ass movie that they could have chopped 45 min out of no problem. Visuals were great, story was meh. Glad I didn't have to pay to sit through that. |

The reviewers I trust have said it's pretty stupid, but entertaining.
That, to me, means waiting till it comes out on video, I have beer, and my standards aren't so high. I think Nolan makes very pretty movies that cover up a lot of fundamental flaws, and this one seems to be that sort of film. |
