I keep a super loud pierce-your-eardrums whistle hanging by my office phone.  When the phone rings, the kids know what's coming when I get that gleem in my eye and shut the office door.

i get them every once and a while and imo they are kinda fun the play with. last one was saying my DNS had a virus in it.... i chuckled and asked him if he knew what that was. he didn't so i schooled him on that not letting him talk or keep "control" of the conversation.

i know if you do this enough they start saying fuck u and im going to come over and kill you blah blah blah. there's youtube videos on these calls, take a few minutes and watch some.

Whenever they call me, I play like I'm on a DOS 6.22 machine. The lack of a Windows/Mac key really confuses them.

Was it Dave?

I kept them online for 6 minutes. When I told the second guy I had a blue screen with a (Fake) stop code, he said, "Your computer is broke" and hung up on me. Awwwwww. I'm kinda proud of that.

(I told him I had a Win95 machine that took 5 minutes to boot. Made him promise not to hang up on me. Liar!)

Yeap, good ol' Dave.

I would have been a bit curious about what he wanted you to do on your PC.

They want you to go to their website where they push virus/spyware-ridden "anti-virus software" to your PC.

Damn that is funny...

My dad, 65 years old, got a call 2 days ago from Home Depot.

They told him that his account is past due and unless he pays them 130$ right now they are going to cancel his account and he will never be able to open another one.

He laughed and said that they would have to talk to my mom because she pays all the bills and has never missed one in their 46 years of marriage.

The guy told him that he could not wait and needed his debit card info to process a payment. My dad then asked for a number and the guy hung up.

He called Home Depot and there were no issues with the account and they told him it's a scam and that home depot would not contact him and ask for money over the phone.

Be careful out there and never give any personal info over the phone to anyone.

It's no scam, it's legit.

I don't know why you got disconnected, but I have their phone number. If you IM me your credit card information, I'll pass it along for you.

Should have told the, you had 'Morning Wood' and would need to 'de-bark' first before you could get to your puter. He of course should stay on the phone as it would just take a min; you could asked what he was wearing and if he liked Gladiator movies.

God how I pray they're foolish enough to call me sometime.

I kept him on the phone for 45 minutes, I was the worst ever at typing in stuff and I told him he was so kind to help me get rid of the bad stuff in my computer and I blamed my gay boyfriend for watching gay midget porn. I had the whole office in tears. I was asking him what he was wearing and if would could both be naked while we did this? when he finally figured it out he calle me an asshole at least 87 times.

LOL

my wife thought I was crazy when she heard all the laughter in the office

I do NOT miss seeing him or the others that were out there at the start.  At first they weren't all that bad.  But after the second or third session they were hindrances rather than help.
