Unique track.  Someone somewhere ought to make another one like it.

Stupid Ferrari and raikonnen.

They should have let him pass Kimi (Alonso) before...

They really are imbeciles

Alonso 2.3 second stop.  It looked like he barely stopped the car.  Impressive.

Alonso must stay there and try the undercut again.

Next time it will work, because there won't be any car in between anymore

Decent race so far.  Real battles between Bottas/Ham for P2 and Vettel/Alonso for P4.

Hamilton gambling on rain - takes another set of Softs.

ETA And immediately bins it into Button.

Setting up for a real nice end - Ham on Supersofts with dodgy front wing, having to thread through the Alonso/Vettel battle.

And Magnusson has quietly crept back into the points.

They need to get rid of the 100l per hour deal and let the motors do what they can rather than this 11k rpm limit from fuel flow.   They are 6 seconds a lap slower than the best laps F1 has done at that track.

Vettel must have seen no way past Alonso to play the Supersoft card.

Do you think Alonso will push those tires to the end..?

I think he would have stopped otherwise, there was a risk of safety car

Vettel has to gain a second a lap and then get past.  If anyone can hold him off, it's Alonso.

This is turning out to be a good race for P2 through P5.

And they seemed to be racing smartly earlier in the race, taking the undercuts.

Then they go stupid at the end.

Idiots.

I remember a scene in one of the Maverick movies where he kept pulling guns out of every possible location on his person.  Great character.

He was great in the Enemy at the Gate also.

Kimi is finished with F1.

He came back to Ferrari hoping for a good run but the car is garbage, now he's just riving around until they buy him out of his contract.

Kimi is great when the car is to his liking but gets completely unmotivated and phones it in as soon as he has to fight anything.  Seriously, beat by Mags even after he was sent all the way to the back after the First Lap?

Not the end of the world though, since it appears that Finland's national motorsports honor is safe with Bottas (and partially Rosberg).

What's with the lame trophies?  It's the second time recently that they handed out the same trophies.  Looks like a flimsy piece of crap, whatever that thing is flopping around in the middle.  The base of those trophies look like a cheap Wal-Mart dinner cup.

Some of my only enjoyment of F1 these days comes from watching the hungrier drivers make progress and achieve success.

So...

Button - GTFO
Kimi - GTFO
Massa - GTFO

Another great race.  It's been a really great season despite the Mercedes domination.

Highlights for me:

Massa survived that wreck.  Ugly.

Ricciardo and Alonso's duel.  Two tough competitors going at it cleanly and agressively.  Great stuff!

Bottas continues to impress.

Ricciardo continues to impress.

Hamilton's drive to the podium.  Like him or not, he's got some chops.  I think he is at his peak right now.

Low points for me:

Raikonnen.

Dammit, I dropped to third, but I digress.

If the race was won on quality of drives, there would be a three way fist fight between Hamilton, Alonso, and Ricciardo.  Rossberg is showing that he deserves to be the world points leader right now, but what a drive between those three.

Bottas is impressing the hell out of me too.  Magnuessen is doing pretty well, but his car is absolute shit.  I wonder how he would fair in top tier car.  I also wonder if we're going to see a disqualification or two down the line with the loss of the FRIC and wear of the undercar rub strips.
