The only thing I have ever disliked about Geissele is that god awful color.

I don't need QD. I'll just build a different rifle for a different optic.
If I had any larue mounts they'd be sold for this! |

I saw them at the Modern Day Marine Military Expo. They look good. Don't see them on their website yet though...

Better no-mar locking mechanism and much greater variety in offsets, ring sizes, cants |

Looks great but not worth 850. That's just a guess based on the fact that they sell a glorified steel rod for 99.
No hate. |

I love their triggers and rails. That particular scope mount, not so much...

Better no-mar locking mechanism and much greater variety in offsets, ring sizes, cants I see. I only own one LT104, it's on my coyote hunting AR. Just been very happy with it over the years and couldn't imagine anyone disliking the mount enough to want to get rid of it. I tinker with shit a lot and have had it off the gun many times and it always stays zeroed. If this Geissele is priced lower I would definitely see not paying more for the Larue mount, though. (But it's Geissele-- I'd expect it to be priced accordingly.) |

Better no-mar locking mechanism and much greater variety in offsets, ring sizes, cants I have an ADM recon mount. It fucking sucks. Only one lever will grab good. The other lever doesn't grab shit. If I tighten it just slightly, it becomes too tight to close. The springs are easily lost when trying to fit the mount to your rail. |

|
Very interesting - I assume there will be more in the line, correct?

They're cheaper now than ever before. G added a bunch of machines, nibbled down the available models, and adjusted the price accordingly. And you also get a free gas block (which is "worth" like $50 or so). And the G rails are like 30% lighter than LaRue (+/- depending on length), don't need rail covers, and can be torqued precisely without worrying about alignment. The anti-rotation is built into the rail, which saves you a whole bunch of unnecessary hardware, and it abuts a part of the receiver that can't interfere with optics mounting. And before anybody wants to discredit me because of Cola Warrior, I'll say that I own three Mk4 rails, and I paid for every one of them (two at full price, and one at half price when G had the sale). For whatever that's worth. |
