When I ask a question I dont want to quote and respond to every post, but I want to somehow be able to let the poster know that I have seen and acknowledge their post. You know so they dont think they're being ignored.

Something like that. Otherwise I just end up quoting them and saying "ok thanks" that just clutters the thread and bumps it. I might actually just start posting a thanks in advance. That's probably actually a better idea now that I think about it.
