"if everyone is cool with it, i'll do for this forum the same as i am trying to do for the SF lit and fiction forum and try to mod this thread and add everyones links etc. so we don't have a whole cluster fuct of threads that end up gettting lost to the archives, and we'll be able to easy access everything in an orderly manner. just post what you want added and where, in this thread or shoot me an IM and i'll add what ever you have... thanks guys!"

From another site. Flash/Java games 'Dawn of the Dead' (remake) games - Two good games here- a shooter (Blackout), and a number guessing game (Barricade). Amazing graphics and sound that will make you fill your pants. De-Animator - Creepy shooter based on H.P. Lovecraft's Herbert West: Re-Animator. Also, here's an alternate link. All Hallows Eve - Base defense shooter, shoot the zombie hoardes as they attack your house, then build barricades and buy bigger guns for the next round. Relentless and atmospheric. Divine Intervention - It's Judgement Day, the dead have risen, and this priest kicks ass for the Lord! Zombie Patrol - Simple, but fun zombie shooter. Grave 2 - a zombie target-shooting game. Crunch Time - deal with zombies at the office in this 3rd-person action game. Features some... unconventional weapons. Zombie Terror - side-scroller puzzle/action game with a very Indiana Jones feel to it. Loot 'n Shoot - an EXCELLENT first-person shooter game based on George A. Romero's 'Land of the Dead' Zombie Horde - A bit like All Hallows eve, but top-down. Zombie Hunter - a top-down action game where you must defend yourself from an endless horde of the undead. Gets VERY hard VERY fast. Zombie Hunter II - a top-down action game. Kinda bland, but bonus points to the creator for using the coolest music from the 'Resident Evil' movie (namely, the music at the very end when the camera pulls back to show the city in shambles, just before the credits roll). Zombie 4 - Classy little browser game made with Processing, and has you trying to save as many civillians from the constantly-spreading zombie hordes, using a multitude of weapons Zombie Survival - basic 2D shooter which uses very cool sprite animations from the Metal Slug game series Generic Zombie Shoota - a very tongue-in-cheek zombie shooter. It's even got its own cartoon briefing Zombie Killer 2071 - not the most graphically pleasing shooter, but still pretty fun Zombie Killer 2072 - sequel to Zombie Killer 2072. Not much better, but still amusing Zombie Squirrel Attack - just like what it sounds like Zombie Swarm - defend yourself from the seige of the undead Land of the Dead - unrelated to the Romero movie of the same name Zombie Erik - another zombie shooter. Interesting graphics House of 1000 Corpses - unrelated to the Rob Zombie movie of the same name. Somewhat of a self-proclaimed House of the Dead clone Y My 6th Movie - no, I don't understand the title either Zombie Escape - use your jetpack to avoid the zombies! Resident Evil: Apocalypse - a tie-in to the movie of the same name. See how long you can survive against infinite zombies! Stickman Sam 2 - for a very simplistic stick-person shooter game, it's actually really addictive Zombie Worms - just like what it sounds like Resident Devil - a very clever rail shooter with stylized graphics, and the ability to blow zombies' limbs off. Gets very hectic very fast. Monster Mash - a VERY fast-paced shooter where you must defend yourself against waves of zombies, skeletons, and bats. Fright Club - go nuts against endless zombies using nothing but a sword. Gets a little repetetive after a while. Graveyard of Drunken Souls - essentially the same exact thing as Fright Club, made by the same creator. Springfield Zombies - based on the Simpsons, it's a bit of a zombie shooting gallery. The audio is kinda crappy, and it gets a little repetetive, but watch your ammo; you only get a certain number of shots. Zombie Romp - a little bit repetetive, and a bit on the easy side, but ragdoll physics is good stuff. Zombie Gringer 60000 - great stylized action and animation, but ignore the suggestion to turn up your speakers; the music is loud and mostly annoying. Umbrella Corporation Bio-Lab - part of the official Resident Evil: Apocalypse movie website; go to the "Bio-Lab" link in the lower-right corner. Make your own Nemesis-style creature, and then submit it to the website to get it ranked. Dawn of the Dead: Zombie Massacre - basic point-and-shoot zombie-killing fare. Gets reasonably challenging as the levels progress. Somehow has no resemblance to the 'Dawn of the Dead' remake, which it's based on. Grave Robber - incredibly hard game where you have to run around a graveyard, digging up body parts for your reanimation experiment... all while dodging zombies trying to eat you alive. Escape from Zombie High! - very low-tech side-scrolling game, where you have to escape your zombie-ridden highschool using only spitballs. Shaun of the Dead - help get Shaun through the zombie horde and to the Winchester as fast as possible! Includes intense cricket-bat-on-zombie action. Zombie Attack - think of it like "Punch Out" on the SNES. With zombies. Ultimate Down - You are a stickman. There are hordes of zombies. Survive as long as you can. Thing Thing Arena - includes a "zombie survival mode", where you have a shotgun with infinite ammo. Thing Thing 3 - more zombie-survival goodness from the creator of Thing Thing Arena. Winter Zombies - just like "Zombie 4" listed above, but in the wintertime! Rotting Onslaught - command a squad of soldiers in this objective-based real-time-strategy game. Zombie Storm - virtually identical to "Zombie 4" and "Winter Zombies", but with very pretty graphics. Mods/Maps for existing games Zombie Panic - a multiplayer modification for the original Half-Life. They Hunger - an excellent single-player modification for Half-Life. Fight your way through an expansive single-player storyline through hordes of zombies. A must-play if you have Half-Life. BrainBread - an excellent co-op multiplayer mod for Half-Life. Features loads of real-world guns, lots of maps, and you can even blow off parts of the zombies. Lots of fun! Infiltration - Unreal Tournament (the original) mod, which revamps the game to make it more realistic. Along with it is a mutator that dumps a large number of zombies onto the map. It isn't half bad if you can manage to play it online, as sort of a survival-a-thon (see who is the last to still be alive and such), but is otherwise kind of bland. The Awakening - a co-op multiplayer mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, currently in the beta stages of development. Includes objective-based gameplay, a variety of weapons, and the ability to play as a zombie. Grand Theft Auto: Long Night - a mod for GTA: Vice City which simulates a massive zombie outbreak. No More Room in Hell - forthcoming Half Life 2 mod, currently in production Quarantine - another Half Life 2 mod that's currently under development. Killing Floor - an UT2K4 mod that just got fully released. Screenshots look great! Project Necrosis - manage civillians, recruit survivors, salvage buildings and supplies, all in the name of surviving the zombie apocalypse. There are a number of zombie-themed half-life mods that are really pretty good. They are generally free to download, as they were released into the public domain by their creators.
For those who don't know, Half-Life is a first person shooter PC game that was revolutionary when it was introduced in 1998 due to its use of plot and environment. Still an excellent game. But the best part was that users could build levels and even entire games using the engine. Many people made entire games, some better than others. Some mods have better graphics than the game, since they were made recently and able to take advantage of better computers. Mods are still being developed today. HL and HL2, as well as the mods for them, are often referred to as interactive movies, rather than games. Some of them are just that immersive. When I get my laptop up and running, I can add more, but these are the ones that really stand out: They Hunger (parts I through III) for HL - A classic. Zombies are created from contaminated groundwater, both raising the buried dead and zombifying the living. Including zombie dogs, reanimated skeletons, hands, frankenstein-creatures, and even zombie chickens and bulls. I definitely recommend it. There's kind of a mystery element to it, you try to piece together what happened. There are several bits of comedy in the game as well. Heart of Evil for HL - A zombie invasion that takes place during the Vietnam war. Loosely based on Apocalypse Now, which was loosely based on Heart of Darkness. Strange. Long and sprawling. Lots of digging around for clues and ammo. Cool guns (Vietnam era firearms - M16, AK47, 1911, M60, Ithaca, RPG7, etc.). Fight the VC, zombies, and special forces troops sent to cover up the outbreak. Some comedy, some attempts at dramatic interpretation of Heart of Darkness. Afraid of Monsters (a Director's Cut version is available, and recommended) for HL - A psych patient addicted to an experimental new drug seems to be the only person uninfected in an outbreak that happens while he is unconscious. Unfortunately, he's still feeling weird psychotic effects of the drug, and you have to survive not only the zombies but also your own drug trips. Extremely creepy, I played through the original once, and downloaded the DC recently, but it's so disturbing I can't bring myself to get past the very beginning again. Highly recommended. Paranoia for HL - Set in modern Russia, you are a special forces soldier sent to retake control of an old industrial complex that has been seized by terrorists. But it's not really an industrial complex, and it's not entirely abandoned... This game was made very recently, the graphics are great (I had to keep checking to see if I was in HL or HL2) and the author is very skilled at using mood and tension. I literally jumped and screamed at several points. Other times I had to pull my boxers out of my colon after combat. Lots of soviet weapons (Stetchkin, Makarov, AK74, 9x39mm VSS Vintorev, etc.). This mod by itself is worth the price of buying Half-Life. SMOD Tactical for HL2 - Not actually a zombie game, but a mod for HL2 that replaces all the space guns with real guns (Glock 19, Kimber 1911, S&W .357, HK MP5, HK USP 45, AR15, AK47, P90, etc.) and requires you to actually aim using the sights, like in Call of Duty. In addition to all the levels from HL2, it includes a zombie level, where you are in an old broken down hotel infested with zombies. Several other counter-terrorist levels as well. It's free to download once you've bought HL2, and worth playing for the zombie level as well as going through the original game with real guns (I like using the G19 as it's my carry gun). Also includes a map generator that will add zombies (among other things) to any map you can find. Lots of variety there. Get a Life for HL2 - A total conversion mod, every bit as long as HL2 and significantly creepier. I hope you like running and scrounging for ammo. Also creepy because all the enemy soldiers are wearing cheap suits with red brassards. Lots of zombies. Just try to make it through without using the console and giving yourself ammo or invincibility - not because it's that difficult, but it's that scary. Excellent mod. Influenced by both "They Hunger" and "Paranoia." |

No the one I am talking about was a 32 page long thread. The pictures were actually photographs of some of the members. I believe there was a guy named "heavy six". The plot was that President Bush authorized the members of AR15.com to respond to an overwhelming zombie threat. There was even a funny Glock "Kboom" that blew up a city block. This thread was awarded "Strongest Thread Ever" like a dozen times and it has been linked to other forums, like Zombie Sqaud. I have searched and searched but cannot find it.

A member found his pictures featuring a backyard amateur SWAT team (and thats using the term SWAT very loosely) online and posted pictures... it became an epic thread and Heavy Six's image became the object of many photoshops. suspect and kar98k have the right idea, i didn't find the zombie forum until a week or so after it's inseption becasue it's located in te general section(i found it while updating my tacked thread in the survival fiction and lit. section i saw a refference to our zombie forum[, i was like "ZOMBIE FORUM! , FUCKING SWEET!!!")...
if it's not in the SF, here, occationally one of the other tech forums, or once in a blue moon my hometown forum, chances are i haven't seen it, hell i don't even make it to team GD but once everyother week or too... i've found that i keep my BRAAIIIIIINS! in better working order if i completely avoid GD... While not technically a zombie movie, Mutant Chronicles nevertheless delivers as a "Made for Arfcom" battle of Man vs. Mutant.
