Here's Keegan. 3yo Schnauzer / Boxer rescue. (not sure if that makes him a Schnoxer or a Bauzer?)

Thanks,

Face and coat are definite Schnauzer but all the rest (body, demeanor, health issues) are Boxer. Just had a Grade 2 Mass Cell Tumor removed but thankfully he is making a great recovery. Best dog we've ever had, loyal, protective but stubborn as hell.

I had a box/pit mix, best dog that I ever had, sweet but would defend herself in a heart beat, I would not have another, we lost her at 9 years and discovered that boxers have the highest rate of cancer for any dog, I would only feed a boxer grain free if possible, cancer tumors grow with carbs, the vet gave her 6 months and I got 12 more months out of her, great dogs

Yeah, I feed mine Blackwood or Nutrish, both are low on carbs.
Vet says he's the healthiest 8yo Boxer he's ever seen.  Still playful as a puppy and limber as a gymnast

Cubby just came in today with a "bubble" halfway down his floppy ear, like he busted a blood vessel or something.  It's about an inch in diameter and almost 1/2" thick in the center.

It's not tender or disolored, his ear just layed a little funny so I started poking around.  Anybody else have something like this happen?

I have a dog that this happened to. It was both her ears. They do surgery sometimes, but luckily my dog was able to take some pills and hers went
down. Although now they are no longer pointed they are flobby.

That happened to my lab.  We brought her into the vet, and they said it wasn't a big deal.  I can't remember if they gave her antibiotics or ointment or nothing, but it went away after a couple of days.

My buddy got a hematoma in his floppy bits...  gets to walk around with his ear stitched up and taped across his head for a week or so...

His first time in 8 years being sedated, pitiful baby

My boy just had ear issues.

First we got drops, then after a week of him still hurting we got anti inflammatory/pain killers and antibiotics.

They think he had a reaction and scratched it into an abscess.

Here he was the other day looking pathetic to get another cheese ball (he doesn't know i hide pills in them)

So, Cubby's first ear hematoma fix didn't take, so last week we went with the nuke-it-from-orbit approach...

Cut a slit out of the inner cartilage and pin two rubbery flaps through his ear in about 20 spots and suture the whole thing to the nape of his neck
He gets to stay like this for a couple more weeks.  I keep it clean and squirt the fancy steroid neosporin stuff in it, and he's on an antibiotic.
These pics were when he got home and was still a bit loopy, he was back to his old self the next morning, with real Frankenstein accessory
He doesn't seem to mind much anymore.

And here is my mom's boxer Bevo. He is Peppers brother. He got hit by a car friday night after jumping the fence to chase the neighbors GSD out of the yard. The GSD was injured too but Bevo had both front legs broken.

You're bending the rules pretty hard right now...

We are only temporarily pacified by the fact that there is a cute dog present...
