Young Winston, 1972 movie about Churchill's childhood and early adult life.

Heard about this movie listening to a podcast of two conservative intellectuals criticizing the new movie Darkest Hour. They didn't like Darkest Hour, but they liked Young Winston.

Pretty good.  He had a pretty intense life.

Leatherface not as good of a origin story as Texas Chainsaw Massacre the beginning but at least they got rid of the horrible skin disorder concept

the first season of Dark

first half was a confusing mish mash of soap opera drama,
then they add in the time travel factor and it really gets interesting

Coppola is a genius, and not just for the 'Godfather' and 'Apocalypse Now'.

Altered Carbon on Netflix. Binged the hell out of it, Noir sci-fi murder mystery. Lots of titties and violence and well acted. I'd highly reccomend it

The Boogens a cheesy 81 B monster movie that is still cool to watch due to being better than your typical big budget CGI monster movie .

Blade Runner 2049

this one was long and a little slow, but well done.

Ryan Gosling plays a LAPD cop that is assigned to track down older model replicants.
He comes across a long buried secret and needs some help from Harrison Ford's character from the original.

Veronica

saw an article on Drudge Report that it was 'the best horror movie ever'
checked it out on Netflix.

a Spanish movie based on a police report.

A young Spanish teen and her friends use a Ouija board to conjure up dead boyfriend and dead father.
something evil starts following one of the teens at home.
during a lot of crazy supernatural stuff at home the girl calls police for help.

The resulting police report is the only one that has ever eye witnessed supernatural events.

it was well done, and pretty creepy - I'm not a big horror film fan so I can't say it's the best ever

there are subtitles - oh the horror

American Made

Tom Cruise plays Barry Seal, a pilot that works with the CIA during the late 70s.
He starts out flying over Central America taking surveillance pics of commies in Nicaragua.
Seal starts running drugs for cartels to make extra money and things escalate to nearly taking down a US President.

it was a decent movie, fast paced, good action.
