I've always thought they looked neat. Kind of took over for the gap the Supra/RX-7 and other 80's wedge turned 90's soap bubble Asian sportscars left unfilled.
I think one with a yota 1uz engine swap would be a hoot. eta- ooohhh... obviously people turbo them, but there are supercharger kits too!!! Neat! |

The Tiburon is a decent enough car, but dude, unless you're a Mets or Broncos fan, that's the fugliest Tiburon I've ever seen.

My sister has one, the "really fast" 300HP version. After spending an inordinate amount of money on it to make it "sportier", it's still a piece of crap that gets smoked by my Volvo.
You either need to plasti-dip the car blue, or the rims [any other color]. |

I think that color combo is listed in the catalog as "Reverse WRX".

Eh, its a car I guess. Personally I would have gone with the Celica, RSX, Civic Si, or pretty much any other small sporty coupe, but to each his own.

And I filled up again today. It got 26 MPG on this tank. So I'll keep an eye on it until I get an average figured out. It was cheap, $2500. So if I can get a couple years out of it it won't be bad. Or get more desire for a real Vette.

Eh, I wanna hate but have to give credit to Hyundai for making this at the time. I feel like a celica or rsx-s would be better.

bought a brand new one when they first came out. problems started around 15k miles. door locks, constant veer to the left, alternator, radiator blew when I was driving on the highway and shot coolant out the hood all over my windshield, multiple trips to the stealership to test the "10 year warranty" for the jumping revs at idle.
that is in no way a korean korvtte. it is a nice looking piece of shit, but it is a piece of shit. |

View Quote So did they ever fix the revving issue? Mine seems to have a high idle now and then. I have to admit, for a POS, I do enjoy driving it. I can't out run a Scoobyroo, but it is a peppy, decent handling and braking little car. We'll see how much it takes to keep it running I guess. I also noticed the right rear tire has some excess camber in it. I also noticed a slightly bent rear tie rod on that side. So I may have to spend some money on parts when I decide to get an alignment. Tires aren't real great that are on it, so later this Summer I'll get new ones and get the alignment better. Pulls a little to the right right now, but not to bad. The boy racer exhaust is not cool though. I looked at replacements and it seems to be more Boy Racer fart can or stock. No "mellow" in between. |

I mean, it might sound like ass, so no promises. I put cheap knock offs on my mk3 supra as a temp till I can get a full system replacement, and it sounds GREAT outside the car (the 7m is basically half of a stroker V-12), but like total annoying buzzing garbage inside. But that is mostly because I don't have a resonator on it (old one rusted out and did the OPPOSITE of what it was supposed to do).
If you have a resonator where it needs to be, and just want to get rid of the fart can that might work. |

The ones that are on it have no fiberglass in them at all. Just chambered. Those Cherry Bombs at least have glass in them. It might be what it needs. Unlike my Monza, it's a one into two, so it may quiet the engine a bit more than a true dual exhaust. I'll have to see if it has a resonator still under it or not. For less than $50 it is probably worth a shot.

Yea, kinda why I went with them. Not a permanent solution, and long run it's cheaper to get new exhaust than try to band aide things along. So that's also something to consider.
As an aside, I've been doing a lot exhaust research since both my supra and stang need pipes. Turns out the big fartcan rice racer mufflers suck so bad because they were originally designed to go on turbo cars, where the turbo significantly reduced the exhaust noise. On them they sound good. But since style gets replicated but not function, when they get put on NA cars they... are like what you have now LOL. |

I had an 07 GT.. Never had any mechanical issues and got alot of compliments on it. I put 105k miles on it and only put a timing belt and a set of brakes on it. Got 24+mpg ad well. It was a slow piece of shit tho. Attached File

I always liked them back when I was in high school. I bought my Genesis Coupe in 2011. Track model. 3.8 liter V6, 6 speed manual, Interlagos Yellow with black leather interior. I love it.
23 to 24 mpg in town. 25 on the highway (not going to get better with handguns, rifles, ammo, me the wife and our clothes/gear and doing 80 mph, or more. It's got so much room in it. I have more leg room in it than my wife's Jeep Cherokee or her new Outlander. I actually can stretch my legs out longer in the Coupe than in my Silverado 1500 but I have more sideways room in the Silverado. Shoulder room? I can bounce my left arm between my ribs and the door. I have a buddy that bought a Z06 Corvette after I bought my Coupe. He brought it over one time. I had to tilt the seat all the way back to get my knees in the car with me (not enough leg room to get my knees under the dash) and I had to park my arm across my chest/stomach because there wasn't enough room to get it between my ribs and the door. As nice as a vette looks they don't have enough room in them. My wife gets in the Coupe and stretches her legs out towards the floor under the dash and still has 8 or 10" of space between the soles of her feet and the floor up there. Yeah, not much room in the back seat but on trips that's where her clothes bags, makeup bag, etc., etc. are transported. They keep talking about putting the 5.0 liter V8 in the Coupe but they haven't done it yet. I don't think they are offering the turbo 4 cylinder anymore so maybe the 3.8 will be the small engine and the 5.0 will be the high performance engine in a year or two. |
