Well, I finally decided to expose myself to the world (no, not that way) with one of my Moon shot's.

I'm new to this and thc conditions weren't the greatest.

I was at an outdoor wedding in southern Chesapeake tonight and we had some great clouds like that pass to the north of us as the sun was setting. Of course I had no camera.

Light was too shitty tonight  at 11pm-12:30am to push the shutter faster than 1/250 f/4.5-5.6 on my 70-300, and was still getting upwards of ISO 3200 sometimes.

Had a chance to play with the camera today. Kinda happy how this turned out.

Condor portrait by Justin Springer, on Flickr

Spent the day at the Grand Canyon, got lucky and found this California Condor sitting on the rim. This is one of only about 70 in the wild in Arizona and only 268 total in the wild.

Barely got this rainbow.  Had to run back in and switch out to the 11-16; the 24-120 didn't have the vertical FOV.  It was lots better 20 seconds earlier.

Barest hint of a double.

That's a great shot but a little overexposed.  Dial it back a bit and you're on the cover of National Geographic.

Great shots!  I'm surprised the wings are as clear as they are at 1/1600 sec.

A little view before heading out fishing for the day........

Just an afternoon stroll in the park.........

I freaking love aluminum prints.  They just look so awesome.    The aurora one is for an arfcommer, and the Piper Cub gauge cluster is for my cousin.  Not sure what I want to do with the sunset yet, but wanted it printed.

I did an aluminum print of our dog for the gf for Christmas. I was very happy with how my pic started given my skill level, but the aluminum print made it pop!. Pretty reasonable prices and shipping (can't remember who I used though )
