HB80 just passed 34 to 14 in the PA Senate! It goes back to the house now for a vote. PLEASE everyone get on their (and other) PA HOUSE reps and ask that HB80 gets voted through.

Find your PA House member here:

Who is my Representative?

Let's all get on this and have the bill on Corbetts' desk asap. Thanks for all the support!

The Senate approved the Alloway Amendment and added it to HB80.

We need EVERYONE to call their State Senators NOW and tell them to vote YES on HB 80.

The Senate is now in recess while the Rules committee and Republican and Democratic caucuses meet. After the Senate approves it, it will go back to the House (where it should be approved) and then to Corbett for signature. This might be our last chance. CALL NOW!

Forget who represents you?

Who is my Senator?

Get on the phones again!

Your NRA-ILA has just learned that this evening, an amendment is going to be offered by state Senator Rich Alloway (R-33) to House Bill 1796 on the Senate floor.  This amendment would achieve what the NRA has been seeking to pass for four years, and would amend critical firearms preemption legislation into HB 1796.  It is critical that you contact your state Senator IMMEDIATELY and urge him or her to vote for the Alloway amendment.

I contacted my senator again. We need to get this passed even though municipalities are and have been breaking the law for years. State government needs to go after them. We cannot let the same liberal ideology to infect PA as it has NY, NJ, CT and others.

Enough is enough! Tired of this SH!T! All gun owners Fudd or not  need to vote against this liberal BS in November! It is like a plague and it is already here. AG Kane anyone?

SEND A MESSAGE TO ALL LIBERALS IN NOVEMBER! Take your SH!T elsewhere!

Gov Corbett signed the bill. We have us a law.

Today, Governor Tom Corbett (R) signed into law House Bill 80, the strongest firearms preemption statute in the country, at a public signing ceremony.

Your thinking on this is spot on.   The left has a long game, and every yard they take, even if it's one at a time gets them closer to their end goal.  All their efforts on multiple fronts are coordinated, and commonly pointed toward that end game.   Theirs is written down, documented, and all aboard or coming aboard sign off on it wholesale.   It effortlessly transcends administrations, successors, and generations.

What's our long game?   What's our overarching plan?    What's our vision for how things ought to be?

Time after time it seems that our only real efforts are pointed at retarding or slowing down the progress of the left and their attacks on the constitution.  Is it really a  "Victory" because we barely stopped some gun ban bill, or would victory look more like repealing existing BS laws and dismantling the associated infrastructures that represented "one yard gains" for some weeping democrat politician 25 years ago?

This is definitely a win, but only in that we have not allowed their offense to progress any further than they already have.

The political thinking has to change.
We can't overcome this if all we are ever playing is defense.    The best we will ever do is to stand still, and that is unacceptable.   We don't know where we're going, but we all know for damn sure where we don't want to go.  And without a plan, that's where we are headed if we keep backing up a yard at a time.

Great news on this bill.  As for future plans, I think this sums up the situation quite nicely.  Let's start with the big piece and get half the cake back.

Excellent post fargo. It should probably be a new topic. I think we have to have a discussion about why gun owners seem to have no coordinated long term plan which the antis obviously have. I have two suggestions as to why this is. First, many  gun owners think advancing our freedom is a losing battle and don't even try to get involved. Second, imo some gun owners are afraid as being labeled as extremists if they say or do anything.

Thanks guys.

The core of the issue is that we've (over time) recalibrated our definitions of success.

We're now defining "flawless victory" as standing still.

In my opinion the best thing we can do is refocus our conversations with the elected to define exactly what progress looks like to us.

Most of the electorate don't really care about guns.   That's not a bad thing, it's an opportunity.

An opportunity to jam rights-focused legislation through the pipeline when we've got both houses and the executive branch.

The caterwauls of democrats are loud, and are amplified by media allies, but they attract little attention past the hopelessly indoctrinated.

Put this in yer pipe and smoke it:   Imagine what could become if we manned the fuck up and did for gun rights what they did with obamacare.

And since no part of the sky will fall, it would be forgotten about in 180 days.
