Does anyone know of anywhere closer to Oregon that does something akin to a 2 gun ACM? I thought this was the coolest thing since I saw ian doing them on Forgotten weapons, and would love to compete. The closest thing would be Ironman 3 Gun in Idaho. The Parma club that hosts it also hosts a few other events like a patrol shoot and land nav shoot. Shotgun required. Meh. Yep, that's the reason I've never gone to Ironman. It's the same reason I'm not going to Hard as Hell as well. Peeps, soda chugging, and frat boy antics is why I don't cola warrior. To each their own Yeah, I guess so. That's exactly why I did Cola Warrior. Everyone had a good time. Thankfully we can all agree at least that shooting under stress is fun- however you go about it. |

This is a 2GACMe thread, not a CW thread. Indeed it is. Like Anthem said, at least we can all agree that shooting under stress is a blast. I have every intention of making it to the match next month. I was hoping to go this month but it happened to fall on Restaurant Week in the valley and there was no way to get out of work. I think what you guys do down there looks awesome and I can't to try my hand at it. |
|
I like all the matches. If there is good people, good courses, then I think it's fun. I love testing out my gear and beating myself up.
Once I get the Winchester 97 going, i wanna start doing 3-gun again with it for fun. I am not in it for trying to place first. If I could get enough ammo, I would bring my M1 down to tucson to shoot. |

View Quote Please rethink running slugs thru the 97. How old is it?? Have you checked the chamber length? Many older 97s had short pre SAAMI chambers, i.e. 2 5/8", not 2 3/4. I ran my 1903 vintage 97 with black powder slugs that I loaded myself. It gave a nice BOOM, had lots of white smoke and flames out of the 19" bbl. Oh yeah, and I even hit steel with it. |

Amendment to the new "gear carry" rule:
ARMORED EXCEPTION: Armored shooters may alter the configuration of their rifle from stage to stage as long as they carry everything they're going to use throughout the match through all the stages. Example: Putting a bipod on for 200 yards and taking it off for Stage 4 but retaining the bipod on their person throughout the entire match. |

It's small advantage for Armored and thus avoids de-evolution into 'gaming' as Armored pretty much can never be gamey. |
|
Makes sense. Bipods and twist-off only (non-flip) magnifiers are the only thing I really foresee someone doing this with and I've never seen anyone do it even before the new rules. Shouldn't be an issue either way.
|
|
Unless the 2GACM crew get devious and put clay pigeons at 150-180yds, a bipod will never offer enough advantage at the match.
The targets are plenty big and the PAR times plenty long to get all hits. Keep up the good work 2GACM crew. You are doing it right no matter what anyone else says. |

The forecast for tomorrow is 115 degree heat.
It's already over 80 at my house at 6:30am. The match will be run, as always, but come prepared or consider skipping this one. We're not interested in casvac'ing anyone due to heat. |

June 2015 scores are up!
Thank you to all the brave souls who came out to shoot in the heat & I hope everyone had a great time! http://twogunaction.squarespace.com/june-2015/ |

Awesome match. I think we misunderstood stage 4 where we started, but I think everyone ended up doing it the same as us.
I'm over Lancer mags. They aren't locking back on my last round and I had two weird feeding malfunctions today. Back to boring, not clear PMAGs. My video. Graham has come a long way and edged me out for 4th. Nice work. http://youtu.be/BT6-8_9NXb8 |

There had been discussion that the July match might be themed with "Old West" content, however, there has not been time to put this together properly so this month will NOT be themed.
It will be a standard match. I just wanted to let folks know in case they were counting on this. We do plan on a few themes in the near future: Old West, WW1, and potentially a Terminator theme hosted by Aaron while I'm at Tiger Valley. Thanks. |
|
If you do Terminator, am I allow to shoot my original Win 87 shotgun??
|
|
|
Princess Andi, you know better.
I would NOT try to break the 180.....and the gun is too old and valuable to twirl. But it blasts just fine. |

A quick heads up to the PHX crew heading to the match.
I10 east will be one lane from wild horse pass to queen creek road until 8am. |

My video (uploading at time of post). 4th place. A very sloppy pistol reload and rushed misses cost me about 7-10 seconds.

ALERT:
The weather forecast for the match this Saturday is 112 degrees with potential rain and higher than average humidity. |

Ok, I admit it, I got home and fell asleep.
August 2015 scores are up! https://twogunaction.squarespace.com/august-2015/ |

Was great fun as usual. Thankfully the guys decided not to try and kill us by toning it down a little. Two stand and deliver, bit of back and forth and a couple 50 yard dashes.
Finally managed to get someone to video me. Stage 1 VZ58 SBR Stage 2 VZ58 flamethrower with crappy Tulammo. Stage 2 PCC, it's like cheating.. Stage 3 PCC, it's a 9mm, really. |

Page 4? Bump. My video is still uploading, but will be done soon. I had one costly fail to neutralize, but I still got smoked by the top few shooters, regardless.

I've been interested in these matches for a while. Nice videos. I need to go to the October match.

Another great fun match! Nice touch on stage 4, starting the stage as you landed in THIS time on your knees....naked. I think I got sun burned

Next Tucson Match: October 17th @ 9am. This match will be a WW1 theme with only THREE stages yet with significantly longer par times. This match will not be our most physically demanding but may have our most difficult shooting challenges yet. Please visit this link for specific information regarding the October 2015 Tucson Match to ensure you're prepared and interested in this truly unique event: https://twogunaction.squarespace.com/ww1-match-considerations-and-rules/ |
|
This has gone back and forth but we've decided to standardize and clarify regarding the Armored division:
ARMORED DIVISION CLARIFICATION - Starting with October 2015, to qualify for armored division, the shooter must wear front AND rear rifle rated plates. Armored: Any rifle and any pistol are allowed to be used, but the shooter must wear rifle plates (front and back) while shooting. Full auto allowed. PLEASE NOTE THAT ARMORED HAS SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS FOR THE GEAR RETENTION RULE. Please Note: PRGC (Phoenix Division) does not allow any full auto whatsoever, regardless of division due to club rules. |
|
Magazine requirements for WW1 themed October Match:
We've been justifiably asked how many magazines a shooter should need to be able to complete the WW1 match with a modern gun. Given the magazine loading requirements (5 in every rifle magazine and 10 in every pistol magazine), the target neutralization (1 hit) requirement, & if you're shooting something magazine fed, you'll want 5 rifle magazines and 3 pistol mags on you. If you're good and don't miss you could get away with 4 and 2. PCC category will be treated like a rifle and restricted to 5 round magazines throughout the course of fire. |
|
PLEASE NOTE
We've modified the pistol loading requirements from 8 rounds to 10 rounds per magazine. PCCs must remain at 5 rounds per magazine for safety reasons. |
|
Well, the WW1 match is complete.
I don't know if everyone would agree, but I think the extended length and difficulty description was apt - at least if you were running an iron sighted bolt gun! This was a challenge. Thank you to all of you who attended, I hope you enjoyed this rather difficult event. We'll be back to "normal" next month, so no weirdness (well, normal weirdness, not like this month)! Please note that the shooters categorized as "WW1" in the divisions listed were using a manually run bolt action or lever gun & iron sighted rifle. Scores are up! https://twogunaction.squarespace.com/october-2015-1/ |
