The irish also had enfields. The no4t reticle was wrong, bren sniping was wrong etc. The natives should had spears, muskets, and maybe some single shot repeaters. Nor did they have heavy wrapons.
But i agree they definately "tried" for period correct weapons and gear.

The guns/gear were meh accurate.
The Irish had British P37 (and probably P44) web gear, and the FALs were of the Belgian M2 pattern with the folding grenades sight, so the movie at least got those right. Brens were standard issue (replaced by FN MAGs later and used for training up until 1997). The weapons in the hands of the Katangese and mercenaries were accurate.

The tribesmen were poorly armed like that. The ad hoc white militia from Jadotville were somewhat better armed, but largely had sporting firearms and few military ones. The Gendarmes were better armed. A mix of FALs (M1s and M2s), Lee-Enfields (Nos. 1 and 4), Belgian Mausers (M1889/36, M1935, M1950), the SAFN-49, and various machine pistols (Sten, Sterling, Uzi, Vigneron, MAT-49, and maybe Thompsons), as well as boht rifle and hand grenades. Pistols were the Browning Hi-Power and perhaps a few French model 1950s and the occasional personal sidearm. For automatic rifles and machine guns they had the Belgian BARs (Model 1930, Model D, Model DA1), Bren, MAG-58, M1919, and M-2 BMG (no DshK, which they used in the movie). They did not have Carl Gustav recoilless rifles (the Irish did, though, and used them to great effect); they had other recoilless rifles in inventory, but didn't use them in this battle. They did have a few mortars and a 75mm howitzer and of course the support of two armed Fouga Magisters (other aircraft were available, but not employed).
