Wife was away for the afternoon, so I finally piled everything up. I think like a year ago all I had was the base vest. Gear whoring is to addictive

I think I am going to get the SOPMOD in FDE next and some kind of an optic

Just got this PIG plate carrier a few months ago. Have not used it in a class yet but feels great.
Have not decided how I want to set it up yet. Maybe I will set it up the same as my Hayden plate carrier.

I do like the weight saving of the Poly plates!

Nice set-up.

You may want to look at the Ferro Concepts Second Chance Lanyard for your Manta strobe.

It's cheap and gives you back-up retention should your strobe come loose from your helmet.

I had it happen to me once and spent 2 hours backtracking to find my lost Manta.

Hasn't happened again since I got the lanyard.

My 6yo son's gear chest.  Some old FAPC's and DTAC's.  There are several  "blue guns" and some wooden ones that I made in there.  He has a hoot playing war with his cousins and friends.

AK rig

New belt rig.

- Cry Precision MRB

- HSGI rigger's belt

- Emdom IAP (1)

- Emdom Universal Rifle Mag Pouch (2)

- Specialty Defense USMC contract dump

- ATS tear-away IFAK

- BLACKHAWK! Strike adapter

Before any of y'all give me shit for using SERPAs, they've always worked for me and the Strike adapter was the cheapest way to be able to use by my SIG and my Springfield pistols with the belt. I very well may switch to G-Code OSH holsters in the near-future, but this gets me on the range now. Also, the Emodom URMPs take some stretching to fit SR-25 mags, but they're designed to fit just about any rifle mag, which works great for me since I'm building a wannabe SR-25.

Getting the HSGI rigger's belt inside the Crye molle sleeve was a real bitch, and in order to have room to access the D-ring properly so that it pulls from the front of the belt (directly over your goods), I had to pull it all the way though to the buckle on the other side. So basically, if you're aligning your gig-line, you align it with the secured D-ring and not the Cobra buckle. Haven't yet gotten on the range with it but it all makes perfect sense and feels pretty good around the house doing practice draws and dry-fires. We'll see how it shakes out soon.

I am quite curious about this sling/bandolier set up. How has it worked out? I have been eyeballing this instead of a battle belt or chest rig. Does it seem functional? Practical? Something one could grab in a hurry and have a reasonable amount of gear on it and still be "combat effective"?

On a side note, not sure if I replied to the right post or not. Hoping original poster sees this

Great point. It's not something I usually do but I wanted to train on breaking the first shot off in DA. I come from the 1911 world so getting used to the first stroke in DA was what I was focusing on in that particular drill. Great point though.

General observation and not being stated to be an a@@.  I noticed that you are taking great pride to grip your pistol, pull from the holster, and aim down the sights.  However, after firing, you are not taking the same amount of precaution in re-holstering and appear to be simply focus on de-cocking your weapon.  The general point that I want to bring to your attention is that you may want to take the same caution in re-holstering as you will find yourself to still be more alert to those things around you instead of assuming that all is well with your weapon.  Be safe always, brother!

Indeed. Eyes on the holster when re-holstering. It's way too easy for a piece of clothing, piece of gear, etc... to get into the trigger guard. I shoot a Glock, so I'm doubly attentive when re-holstering.

I was wearing another layer on top of that shirt and as I was going through some drills, it was getting caught in my SERPA, so I shed that top layer. I can promise y'all at no point was I neglecting the reholster. Once I find it with the muzzle and confirm with my eyes it's where I want it to go, I drop it in and listen for the click.

All good points, gents, and I appreciate the criticism.

I picked up the Mk2 several weeks or months? Ago. It's awesome. It's probably the best chest rig I've owned and used to date. I use it at work as my Active Shooter kit, it's light weight, carries what you need (my case 3x 5.56 mags, 2x M&P 9mm Mags, 2x Chemlights, 1X RATS TQ and some basic medical stuff). Really awesome kit. I just need to get the little groin/hanging bag that goes with it for an IFAK/Blowout kit/Speedball. I really dig this kit.

New rig because I felt like it, SSO Nuker as the base.  The widow maker will be replaced with a safariland and the cheap bottle pouches (one has bottle and cup, the other is an ohshitkit) need replaced. 6 rifle, 2 pistol, the third pistol mags pouch is a Leatherman.  HSGI blowout stuffed with the usual.

Small pack is an SSO 12 liter snivel gear and chow, the 6x9 pouch has a woobie, the max has my nods, to the bottom is a gortex.

Wears good with a ruck, obviously the 12l has to strap onto the ruck.

And a new to me M83 that needs some minor repair.
