I saw CDNN the other day had the Sig 2022 in 40 S&W for $299. Wonder if they have the 9mm version for the same price?

If they do, I'll have a hard time not pulling the trigger  that.

My apologies, you are right. It was a local firearms place I got the email from, not CDNN.

Ok, I have no experience with the gun, and from what I've read they can be hit or miss (same can be said for most guns). Anyway, for a truck gun I would at least consider a Sccy. It fits all of the requirements the OP posted, and their warranty is said to be killer. Apparently, they will replace the gun if it is stolen or confiscated as evidence by the police. For a gun that will spend most of it's life in an unoccupied vehicle a replacement guarantee sounds pretty good to me. Like I said, I don't have any experience than holding one for a second at the gun show today, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt.

This, G22's can be had pretty damn cheap and often with 2-3 mags. I'm not a huge .40 fan (though I do own a few of them), and I'm not even that big of a Glock fanboi, but in the $300-350 used range the G22 is a nobrainer if you want a high quality truck gun with all the plusses of having a Glock (cheap and easy mags, holsters, accessories, etc) in your price range. Sure you can get a quality gun including others listed in this thread, but how is cost and selection of mags, holsters, etc and where do you find them? Plus, no bent dick horror of a trigger like on the M&P.

My concern isn't with extra mags, holsters, or accessories; this will be a truck gun so two mags is enough for me, I just need this as a quick reaction gun in case I don't have the time to draw my EDC from its holster while seated.

Yep, an used Ruger P-series in VG condition is a reliable well made pistol that can be had for <$300.

I'd say the two in the running right now would be a P95 and the G22 but if I had to choose then it would be the P95 because I already reload and buy 9x19, and I have lots of it stashed up right now.

No, but I got my hands on one at the local gun show yesterday and it was different than I was used to. The balance was off but the feel of the trigger and grip was good. That off balance just gave me a gut feeling to pass on it. I'm not saying it's a bad gun and may work well for someone else, but I am saying for myself it didn't feel right.

agree with what ^ he says other than the blatant ignoring of the fact you said no CANIK in your first post

I'm not a .40 lover either but there are legit arguments for a heavier bullet in and around autos.

I also have a threaded 9mm barrel for mine for the range FWIW

.40 S&W is always the right answer.

Especially around automobiles. Better penetration through intermediate barriers like auto glass.

But, but bullet advancements!!!

Which somehow don't apply to .40 S&W bullets as well.

You can probably find a ruger SR9E for that price.  Maybe even the standard SR9.  Not as popular as some other models but they seem like a good value.

Terminal performace against auto glass and sheet metal.

If I was in your boat I would look at the following....
-used Ruger SR series
-LE trade in or used Glock 23/22 (Even consider the 2nd Gen models)
Not double stacked, but still an option... Kahr CW9
Or a ugly Springfield XD.  I see these going for $350ish at times.
In the $300 price range it really limits your avenues, but with patience Im sure you will find something.

The Grand Power does have  some CZ heritage but that is about it..  I suggest you google it for greater information.  It does have a rotating barrel, excellent DA/SA trigger.  These are a sleeper.  I really like my P1 MK7.
