First off I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and you all have a Happy New Year.

I'm looking for a good gun belt for my EDC setup. Lately I've been using cheap leather belts that you can find at any large retail store but I'd like something a bit sturdier and a bit more durable. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This is what I use. It's a great belt. Holds up my P220 and 2 mags with no issues. Whatever you choose, as the poster above be said, good belts cost money.

I really like the look of The Beltman. Anyone ever try SOE's EDC belts?

That's why I'm leaning towards leather. I want something inconspicuous that won't seem out of place if I have to dress up for sone reason.

Desantis E25. Amazing belt for the price. Doesn't look out of place should you need to throw on some nicer clothes.

Have worn mine every day for a little over a year. Still very happy with it.

Just bought a really nice belt at Tucker Gun Leather in Houston. 1 1/2" tapered in the front to 1", 7 holes, Hermann Oaks leather. Made in Texas, USA. Chicago screws secure the buckle so you can change it. Lots of colors available. I bought a black one and will be buying a light brown one to match some western boots. Small shop but they make great gun leather.

SOE makes great gear with a small wait but the owner is a character.   He dog cusses customers on FB.

I like DSG Arms belts also.

FPNI. I've used my Beltman belt for just over a year now, and it still looks new. I love it. Now I just need to get one in black to go with my brown one..

I usually wear a 5.11 unless I have to dress well.  Pretty cheap and gander has them on sale a lot.

I got turned on to the Crossbreed belt.  Been using it for about three years with pants and it's pretty solid.

In shorts, I use a simple Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt.  Have used it a bit longer than my Crossbreed.

Both belts have no problem with an M&P 9C worn IWB.  Have worn an FNS9 with the Crossbreed belt without issues either.

I'll tell you what, I'm a tough customer and AG custom has been really good to deal with. Lots of communication and questions answered.   I'll try to remember to update after i get my belt.

I've got one of their competition belt sets and the stitching has ripped out along the top after maybe five or six 3 gun matches. As much as I like it I can't recommend them based on that.

Beltman for leather, 5-stich Wilderness Tactical for, well, tactical.

My 1.5" leather Beltman that "necks down" to 1" at the buckle is the shiznit.

ETA, and while I think Galco is the K-Mart of gun leather, their Cop belt is pretty good.

Hanks Amish double bridle leather is a fine looking belt suitable for dressier occasions. Can usually get a coupon for 10-15% off in their email list if you wait a few weeks. Very stiff and durable IMO

Galco has a nice line of belts as well.  Have the CB3 Concealable belt for since around 95 and it has held up extremely well.  It is kind of pricey but there are less expensive options as well.  The COP belt is nice and costs less than $100, and their Carry Light belt is less than $50.  I also have one of these as well.

Also as someone else has mentioned the OSOE belts are pretty nice as well.  This is what I am currently running and so far so good.

Just picked up a Two Fools Fatboy, very stout, with a casual look leather belt, no buckle to bang on things or scratch finishes. Standard thickness is over 3/16", double is simply ridiculous.

No one rocks a galco? I switched from my old Carhartt to a Galco SB5 about two months ago. I never realized how important a good stiff belt was!

Beltman for sure. I make fun of my friends and their wimpy walmart belts. I got the 1.5" bull/horse belt. I'd get the added stiffener if I did it again. Even with my size 33 waist

I use a Wilderness CSM, I have had a few of them over the years and they are great. Also had a beltman.com and if I was going leather I would be my first choice. I have a SOE Gear cobra belt, I really like the cobra buckle, and the belt overall is very tough and holds the weight well, but that being said its not very polished in the finish. The tag end is just cut off square and melted rough on the end making it hard to thread through my belt loops, and the point where the velcro starts is the same way. Now I say this knowing if the owner of SOE seeing this post he will call me names and be mad at me. I sure I will be heartbroken, but I will say I would still buy gear from SOE, just like other belts better. (Disclaimer: I am a fat 40ish family guy that has never been "downrange" or a "operator" or "been in the sh__")

I have 2 1.5" bullhide belts, both with stiffners, from the Beltman. My black one is over 10 years old but still looks and works perfectly. My brown one is about 2 years old. I'll never use another belt; hell, I just might not NEED another belt with the way these 2 are going.
