What about brushing alodine over the receiver, then alum-hyde or cerakote?

How durable is Aluma-Hyde? I have never had high opinions of paints from a spray bomb.

If you want to go with something in a spray can, this is what you want. It is a little pricey, but the best you can get out of a can.
