Looks like I picked a good time to get into AR pistols.
I can't remember the last time I shot my AR or AK rifles.

I saw your post about the rubber being very flexible. I don't know if it varies much, but mine feels pretty stiff. I don't have experience with any other brace so not sure how it compares.  Are you pushing really hard on it? I'm very happy with it overall.

I wanted to try a cheek riser on a standard buffer tube, just curious if people with both like one more than the other.

Cool, thanks for the reply!

Found a LGS that had some in stock, installed it, took it to the range and I'm digging it.

It feels real mushy when pulling it towards you when compared to my traditional 14.5. I'm not okay with it considering its cost.

Especially like the way the color turned out.

Do you have a thread showing it in more detail or have a better closeup photo?

Thanks
Best I can do with my iPotato.
Flat white, flat black, flat gray (gray primer)
Rolled up a piece of paper, slid it around the barrel under the rail. Painted the rifle. Then wadded up a paper towel and dabbed on the splotches.
Filled in the spartan with wax, painted rifle (leaving more white over the spartan) then once the paint was dry I used a toothpick to get the wax out.
See the sponge painting thread in the "refinishing" forum.

Some nice firearms here, I'm back to zero personally, had some health issues and then my bank account drained thereafter, so here's my budget baby.

Factory build brand new ( I know but got it on a cash/trade deal ) PSA 8.5"  multi cal. and I have scrounged up a KAK 2 1/2" can and shockwave blade, topped off with a Monstrum tactical 10" /  1.75" guard to fit over the can and the hexmag rubber grip ( f'in awesome grip ), I have yanked the scope, too much for this setup so just going with a set of hammerhead flip ups right now.

Hoping to get some R.time in very soon and see how she performs.

My one and only right now.

And one with the punisher D60 drum ( and some  pmags ) gifted by a old friend who got me into guns as a kid and took me to my first gun safety class at 10 yrs old in 1975 above rons bar in st.paul,mn

EDIT: not sure why the pics are links...in preview it shows the pics ?

My first pistol. I plan on SBRing it, but the Thordsen/CAA cheek rest is solid, and I imagine using the cheek rest with a one point sling will provide a pretty stable platform. It isn't flush with the end-plate since the lower has a QD end-plate, but the receiver extension cover still locks up tight.

I'm not sure about the Surefire Warden, as it adds a good bit of weight (it came with the upper), but I will give it a shot at the range before deciding to keep it or not.

Its a PSA build. I like the looks of it. Not a bad price either. Just over $600 including the MD-ADS.

It is just a cheapo 4" free float handguard over a 4.5" faxon barrel with thread protector.

The neat thing is that I just attach the barrel with the handguard tighted as well as I can sinch it down.  It stays put during live fire and I can use it like a cheapo poor man's DOLOS since it is just a blow back.

Tried the shockwave. It was alright. Tried the pdw brace, it sucked. Just gave the sbm4 a shot, also not too thrilled. I think the best one may still be the original sb brace, even though it's heavy and hideous.
