I see some great photos and it would be great that along with the photos the photographer give the name of their equipment used along with settings. I am new in photography just buying some Nikon equipment and could use any tips available to help my knowledge.

Thanks! I used gimp to do some minor editing, photoshop is on my wish list.
The shots I got from the camera need serious work...or rather I need to better understand how to use the camera better. Most of them came out with a very yellow hue

Considering this is a photo thread, I'll make this my last post like this 
You can get a copy of Elements 14 for ~$75 or so on Amazon, or (if you can catch it on sale) I pay $7 a month for the Photographer's Creative Cloud from Adobe. Gives me the latest versions of photoshop, lightroom (that I need to learn how to use) and bridge to import stuff. Light temp/color is an easy fix, once you know how to do it. I'd offer to help with GIMP but to be blunt, that software pissed me off to the point where I switched back to photoshop 
Feel free to PM if you have any questions though. I might not be up to the pros like DSully or Stick, but I give it my best.
