I noticed it's pretty springy with .223 loaded ammo. I toss on my lower that has a Carbine buffer and it really snaps which I like. My upper is a FULL Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS II. I know DD rifles or I'm pretty sure DD rifles come with just the H buffer. Could this buffer be a bit too heavy for this upper/barrel/gas-port setup? I have no failures, it just seems slow and clunky to me.

If it locks back on empty then you're good.

Definitely does. I've thrown several types of ammo at it. Federal XM-193 feels the best but then I've also shot PMC and that MFS stuff Cabela's has and those feel springy like the buffer is too heavy BUT all of it fires flawlessly.

Yeah I'd just leave it be personally. Unless it starts not locking back on empty of course

Anybody looking to get into a block II that has a TA31, I just posted a WTT ad in want to trade - firearm parts and accessories.

My FDE DD RIS II, Taupe KAC 99051, and EOTECH 553 for your ACOG TA31.

Feel bad spamming up this thread, but most of you know I'm going to anyways.

Slightly off topic, but not really...

So I came across this thread while looking up LMT carbine:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_118/564927_Why_I_like_my_LMT___.html

This guys carbine is just sexy as shit. I have a bunch of parts laying around that look like hell and would be great for a rattle can build. I want to build this rifle. I might use my spare RO921 barrel, and I got to thinking..."I'm basically building a PR" Difference of course, being, I'm running an LMT rear BUIS as opposed to the KAC BUIS. I'd like it to be an irons gun.

Point being... I have an extra Surefire 3P FH I could put it on it so it will run with my SOCOM can (when I finally get around to buying it) (it's getting pinned with something either way). My question is: Do PR rifles use the Surefire FH? Or were most of them using the KAC mount?

Thanks

"The" can is/was the KAC NT4...it is slowly being replaced by the SF SOCOM.  I have yet to see any SOCOMs in theater (Afghanistan); that doesn't mean there aren't any, but I think I would have seen some by now if there were many here.  They are in use in Iraq.

Bottomline:  either way is good so go with the latest and greatest (SF).

As an aside, was that the "10,000 round LMT" thread?

I've owned the same barrel as slowkota and just sold it on the EE. I believe his is the hand lapped 416 stainless as mine was.

FANTASTIC shooter and was on my recce. 75 grain factory hornady match grouped under .5 MOA for me.

Here is a profile comparison, very close to the M4A1 barrel

Up till Dec I was still slowly replacing NT4 for the SF 4P but they are more commonly seen here in Iraq/Kuwait.  Most ODAs do have the SOCOM now.

Good deal....if mine doesn't, i know whom to call to borrow one.

Mine arrives wednesday. I may be selling my 350z tonight, and if i do (and they're still in stock), i may snag one or two more to stash.

How many of you guys use your block ii as your primary AR?  I only ask because I have one ar15 and it is in the process of becoming a block ii clone.  If it is your primary gun, how does it work for you?

Just wanted to let you guys know that shirt sales will be closing at 5.8.2015 which is Friday of week!
Remember this is your only opportunity to get these before they are gone.

Also wanted to let you guys know that the shirts are good to go and orders WILL be filled. Still not at the pre-order number that I had hoped for but as long as I can come out even (money spent on the shirts, gas to drop em off, and U-line packaging) I am happy to send the shirts to everyone who placed an order.

Grab yours @ critical-precision.net and please share on social media!

My 14.5" Block II was my only AR until about 6 months ago. In a SHTF senario, I'd rather have it over my CQBR.

He looks pretty big, but he's also wearing a ton of ECWCS shit, so he probably looks even bigger than he is.

Mine is by far The rifle I take out of the safe the most. I have to admit, though I kind of want to either get a PR upper and put my SU-231 on that and just run my Block II as a Mini Recce like SecretWheelman or split the difference and try to trade my upper for an FSP upper and throw a Magnifer behind the eotech.

You mean B5 Gen 1 issued SOPMOD I assume. BCM does not make SOPMOD stocks, LMT and B5 Systems do.

Not that anyone cares but I tried to put a BCM MOD 3 on my Colt M4A1 marked lower and I just couldn't like it. I don't know if it was that it felt too wide in my hand as my other one I had was a Mod 1, but I ended up going back to the Colt A2. I just hate that grip angle, makes my wrist hurt!

Sorry just my random thought of the day.

Dear diary, whacked it too hard, hurt wrist.

RB- the Colt A2 grip is unbeatable in the looks department. I've gone through all seen in the wild grips, and use my work as yours. I always came back to the Colt A2. The next best is the Magpul MIAD.

I went from A2 to MIAD to MOD1. Then I was like man this MOD1 sucks for my shooting stance then went to the MOE. Then I was like why the hell was I paying more for the MIADs?

Dear diary...

I've built up a healthy tolerance to wrist injuries due to whacking. If anything that has helped me grip an A2 with less discomfort! :)

I LOVE the look of the A2 but I hate that hump. I almost think an A1 might be a solution.

Side note, previous to the BCM I exclusively ran MIAD and MOE grips. Actually I always ran MIAD's with the enhanced trigger guard built in piece but then when they stopped making them I switched to MOE's with new builds but then went to BCM's because of the tang that covers the gap.

Tell you what I saw that I did like the other day though.... ankratz BLOCK II looks sick with that MOE+ in black.

Stripped the bottom rail. Going to do the top as well. Somebody trade me your TA31 for my FDE RIS II, Taupe KAC 99051, and my 553, g-damnit.

Clone Gods be damned; I love MOE+ grips.

Shitty pic, but on the A2 you could try choking up a bit on it. I shoot my A2 clone like this and it actually gives you a pretty solid grip for weapon manipulation:

That MC SOPMOD is sick as hell man. Is that factory MC'ed or something you had done? I remember reading B5 made MC SOPMOD's.

I think I might want one for my upcoming build. Decided to do a .308 build for hog hunting. All black rifle with just an MC SOPMOD would look SICK!

No, I deserved it, I have damn sure taken plenty of liberties in exploiting similar mistakes by others - kinda my thing actually - which makes this whole mental acuity degradation all the more difficult to stomach.  Sure glad I didn't fire truck my initial post into the thread, that would be horrible... oh wait!!!

Yep, it came from B5 like that. I have one of their MC grips on the EE right now, was thinking about selling the SOPMOD with it as a package but it's so awesome. Can't bring myself to get rid of it.

Anyone know of a good Elcan specter dr dealer that offers mil discounts? Heavily considering taking the plunge on an optic that cost more than my gun!

Also, can you guys comment on how tough the eye box is on 1x?  I've heard a few grumblings  about needing a pretty consistent cheek weld to see through the sight at 1x.  My use would be for everything from hd to range use to 3 gun.
