Word on the street is that y'all have been cut off by SilencerCo. What's the deal?

Can't divulge the source. Sounds reliable..... Silencer Shop has already said this isn't true... I was in their shop Tuesday and they had plenty on display... I'd imagine they have plenty in stock. It's a question if they will get more in the future or not. There is another thread in suppressor forum going about this and it was closed with the suggestion to start a thread in this forum if people were still interested. As someone who is actively collecting suppressors I think knowing if they will be stocking this brand in future or not is my business and I am curious if there is any truth to the rumor or not. I know they said it was just a rumor. After that, it was noticed they are no longer listed as a distributor on Silncerco's website and other people in the industry stated first hand knowledge that the working relationship between Silencerco and Silencer Shop has come to an end. It's interesting to me because Silncer Shop must do some serious volume when it comes to Silenceco suppressors. I understand the Liberty and Dead Air deal was over MAP. Not sure if that has anything to do with this or not. |

My guess is since they are a wholesaler now, and you can no longer buy direct from them. Dealers listed on Silencerco's website you can buy direct, I'm assuming that's why Silencer Shop is no longer listed. |

I too would like to know as I am new to suppressors and don't want to get burned. I just bought a trust from SilencerShop, and I am about to pull the trigger on an Omega. I have read several forums that discuss SilencerCo dropping Silencer Shop. Initially they denied the claim but have refused to address the issue after it was pointed out that their logo suddenly disappeared from SilencerCo's site.
SilencerShop was quick to deny the claim as a rumor until evidence was brought forward. Now it seems like SilencerShop is dodging the actual question. I am part of an NFA Facebook group, and several people have chimed in regarding them being dropped as a distributor and retailer. Their response to the same question on the facebook group was: "I am not aware of the SilencerCo contract details. We are selling SilencerCo products just as we've done in the past." Seems like they are avoiding answering the actual question and I would like to know before I give them my money. Just because they are selling SilencerCo products, doesn't mean they didn't get dropped by SilencerCo. They still sell some Liberty and Dead Air and each dropped SilencerShop for whatever reason. Is there trouble in the waters? |

Can anyone tell me where I can buy an Omega from a reputable place that will help me with the form 4?

That doesn't answer my question. If I buy from them can they support me in the future considering SilencerCo dropped them as an authorized distributor and retailer?

Your warranty is through silencerco so why would it matter where you bought it? Any of the other accessories for the omega can be bought frkm anywhere since theyre not silencer parts. Silencer shop is still a good company. Who knows whats going on with all the changes lately.

Since they are a wholesaler, and you are presumably not a dealer you cannot purchase direct from them. Which I assume is why Silencerco removed them from their distributor list.... Keep in mind you are dealing with two HIGHLY AND VERY REPUTABLE companies with an OUTSTANDING track records for customer support. |

I guess your love for silencer shop has blinded your ability to think outside the box. If they are a wholesaler, then why would SilencerCo remove them from the authorized distributor list? Do you not know that wholesaler = distributor?
And yes, I can buy direct from their site. I may have to transfer it to a local dealer, but I can buy any suppressor direct from the SilencerShop website. I will assume that just like my Trust, the suppressor purchase I make from their site will read "Silencer Shop" on my credit card statement. Sounds like I just bought from a retailer / distributor / or whatever they call themselves. If they were a wholesaler / distributor in Sept and listed on SilencerCo's site, why are they no longer? I'm looking for a reply from SilencerShop, not some fanboy on the internet who isn't aware of the situation. |

Do you not know that wholesaler = distributor? Seriously? Please explain the difference between wholesaler, distributor, dealer and manufacturer as it applies to the firearms industry for us. I've been a licensed dealer for seven years and know this much: Some wholesalers sell direct to the public. Some distributors (like RSR) will sell nonfirearm items direct to the public. Some "dealers" (like Buds) sell more guns than some distributors and manufacturers. Some dealers are the sole importer of certain firearms and do not use a distributor. Some manufacturers will sell direct to dealers, skipping the distributor. Some distributors (like Davidsons/Gallery of Guns) sell directly to the buyer, but have a local dealer do the transfer. The manufacturer > wholesaler/distributor > retail dealer model isn't set in stone. And yes, I can buy direct from their site. Not that it really pertains much to the subject matter at hand but i know for a fact that I have read Silencer Shop say they submit both the form 3 and the form 4 under their new Powered By Local system. You also pay no sales tax (unless in TX) and no transfer fees

When this thread started, one of the Silencerco cans I was looking at was out of stock at Silencer Shop.
Today, it is in stock. Odd if they were 'dropped'. |

Dealer email direct from Silencerco:
(ETA, I hope they can work this out because as a Powered By dealer I like both Silencer Shop and SilencerCo's products as do my customers. Going to be a lot more effort on my part to offer SilencerCo. Even though I can deal dealer direct with them, it's a lot more convenient through Silencer Shop.)

Looks like I'll have to find another source to buy Silencerco products. First, they screw Texas residents with the Powered By program and now this. I'm done. Thanks for the great support in the past.
|

[#33]
How did they screw Texas? You can buy from them have it sent to another dealer down the road. It's not rocket science here.
They still do the leg work, the transfer fee is taken care of with the purchase. So how does it hurt you? Out of all the "they screwed me posts" I've never seen anyone say why. I'm sure SS would appreciate the feedback. |

I really hope you guys can get things figured out and patch up the relationship.
I enjoy buying from Silencer Shop because things are seamless. Not to mention my local shop is about to be a powered dealer and there are a few cans I'd like in the future. |

[#36]
Havicc, they screwed Texas residents because when I bought my two (2) previous cans from Silencer Shop, I DID NOT have to pay a transfer fee. With Silencershop's new program I have to pay a transfer fee. So, for me living in Texas it is more expensive.
But, since Silencerco dropped Silencer Shop it does not matter anymore. I like Silencerco cans so do not buy from Silencer Shop anymore. |

You would use a Powered by Silencershop dealer and that dealer is not allowed to charge a transfer fee. |

Like CTran555 said you don't pay a transfer fee or shipping. Also you can pick up from a dealer that is closer to you and don't have to drive to Austin. It doesn't cost you anymore than before.
