Everyone knows my bad luck with my first DD. If you don't then you can refresh here...

So that was just my upper. Since whoever put this rifle together probably put both halves together I obviously have problems with the lower too. Minor though. The buffer tube is not straight so the shoulder stock sits crooked (off center line). Looks like he put it on in a hurry because the castle nut is slightly stripped causing the squares to be twisted up slightly cause a rough edge. Not much but noticeable. So because I had already sent this back twice to get the upper fixed I had no desire to relive that so I emailed them and just asked if I could buy a new castle nut. They don't have one for sale on their website so I just wanted to buy one. This way I could replace the twisted one and straighten the tube in the process. But I was totally willing to pay for it since I had not mentioned it the first go around and I figured they would think that I was nuts.
But they are awesome. They are sending me a new castle nut and plate for free. The plate too because I would have to re-stake the plate and I had forgotten about that, so good thing they did not.
So bottom line is that, after reading the glowing reports of DD love I must have gotten the one that was made on 5:00 on Friday
Mine will be great once I fix all the little glitches but it had some real quality control issues. I know a lot of guys with DD's and theirs were perfect leading me to buy DD in the first place. Mine ... not so much. All minor stuff but quite a few of them. Nothing that will effect the shooting of the gun and all getting fixed up now. So in the end it will be awesome DDness
But after all this, with the way that CS helped me get it right and never once told me I was being a perfectionist, I will definitely be buying more DD in the future and will recommend them to friends. People like this that helped me so much don't make crappy stuff and at first I thought their stuff was not all it was cracked up to be but now I am feeling more like I just got the one bad one out of a million
Which is really par for the course for me.
Much DD love. Customer for life
