The Post Apolcalyptic, Mad Max, Fallout, Zombie, etc... builds are becoming increasingly popular here.  Lets see everyones build!

Show your completed build, Your started build, Or even pop in to ask questions about the builds shown, but lets keep it related to the End Of World Theme. If You're showing your completed or started build, by all means add a link to your thread so we can encourage it!

Here's mine!

Do you want this thread to be complete builds with links to build threads?

Let's keep this out of the archives!  I'm looking forward to this thread!

I linked to mine and I encourage others to as well, but there's certainly no requirement to. I also don't see any reason people cant cross post progress from their builds. I'll update OP.

Waiting to get access to the build forum they link to on their site to see if I should buy a UZI demil repair kit at the same time . I will need some brazing practice before I jump into a lower as I have not done any brazing in a LONG time and I was not that good and did not have to be precise when I did it before. I am attempting to source the build parts now. I should pick up the tanks this week and have the regulators and tanks and torch waiting and ready to go

Many of us are eagerly awaiting.  Don't worry about the brazing, as long as you have a grinder with a cut off wheel and flapper disks.

Stock picture but mine looks identical. Cost 100 bucks and it's the smoothest and most accurate Mosin I've ever shot. The bore is excellent even though the rest looks like it was exhumed from some VC's grave. God bless cosmoline lol

What's the deal with barrel on your AR? The muzzle end specifically. It looks like it has threads, but the diameter is as thick as the whole barrel.

Looks like it was 5/8x24 threaded and he had the barrel turned down to 5/8" for the FSB. I had the same done to mine

Yea I know the old saying A grinder and paint will make a welder what he aint. I just need to brush up on some cheap steel. I kinda want to try and box in a right side charging upper with steel to make it look like a full steel ar that I can rust. I will probably wait to start a thread until I get the parts assembled otherwise It will drag out way to long. My other thought was to make a borderlands looking rifle

Anyone have a Right side charging upper laying around for cheap

Yeah I saw yours in your thread and thought it was just some ghetto thing you were trying to do for some apocalyptic touch. Then I noticed his rifle in another thread today and then he posted it here I had to ask, was thinking maybe some retro thing. Is there any benefit to threading a 5.56 bbl to 5/8 24 instead of 1/2x28

Was the Juneau Arms Company very small? Very few guns?

I see that the stock is repaired. Is that significant to the rarity?

I'm not trying to be a dick, just wondering what I am not seeing that makes it so rare?

The date? I don't know.

The guy I got my upper from had a very similar idea of a handguard as your depiction showed, I'll contact him tomorrow about who he said made them. I think you'll need a lathe and mill if you want to build your own upper out of steel though.

Get your stuff and start the thread. You'll have guys like me that want to see updates on the daily, but it gets built as it gets built. You'll develop a fan club like Raider has.  His build went 14 pages, and mine only 3. Don't fret that stuff, it's about the project itself!

It probably just like that from the factory (as was mine) and simply didn't want to pay for the rethread.

Yea I just want to encase a real aluminium upper in a steel jacket. There is no way I would make a steel upper. Hell I might even fail at putting a real upper in a tube of steel.

My biggest problem is a lack of tools. I dont even have a drill press currently  or even a garage to work out of.

ETA> Well lack of tools is a big problem I should also add a lack of skill and money might be a bigger problem

I'd consider doing something like Raider or I did, and just mangle the upper a bit and make it look stressed. We are after all building/built AR15's from "scratch" and spare parts.

It's a copy of an in game Fallout New Vegas rifle chambered in 12.7x42 aka 50 Beuwulf. Think I got the barrel from brownells or midway. The black deal is a thread protector until I turn a muzzle device that matches.

Subbed

I used to have a mauser in 30-06. Some one bubba'd the original stock and gave it a new barrel that they poorly blued. It had a fixed 4x Gibson's store brand scope on top. Wish I still had it, it would be great for this . I'll have to cruise by the pawn shopped i found it at. They always have old beat up old bolt guns and budda'd mulsurps.
