Really difficult for me,,,all around boxer, puncher, strength Sugar Ray Leonard. the era he fought in was the greatest of all time, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Alexis Arguello, John the Beast Mugabe, Wilfredo Benitez, Roberto Duran, there will never be another time in history like that View Quote Agreed. Hector Camacho, the first septuple champion....beat Duran twice, and sent Leonard into permanent retirement.
Over half his 88 fights ended in KO victories. The dude was an assassin. Moron, in real life, but a great boxer and always awesome to watch...speed and precision. |

George Foreman.
He strikes me as a pretty entertaining character. Makes a good grille, too |

I guess I read the thread title wrong. Sweet, no prob. I change my answer to Ronald Harwicky. He fought in 1942, only once, won against some dude then got appendicitis and died shortly thereafter. No one was ever better, prove me wrong. |

Tyson I guess.
The guy is such a thug. Biting part of a dude's ear off - that is some hard core animal shit! Can you imagine how awesome it would have been to have him as a body guard when he was in his prime? "Yeah, muthaphuckas, come try to fuck with me, and you get to deal with my friend Mike!" |

Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth Live on Stage is a good watch. He talks about his whole life. He's grown up a lot.

Salvador Sanchez
Mike Tyson - Sanchez was born in Mexico in a city that shares my first name. He was killed on my birthday. - I was at the 1st fight in Vegas when Tyson lost to Holyfield. Since then I've literally ran into Tyson three times at different casinos and events. . |

Quoted: Butterbean View Quote That man is a piece of shit. He came into town a few years ago to fight. To help promote his boxing match, a local weatherman (as in nice meek small framed man) got into the ring with him on the local morning TV show. That dumb assed fat son of a bitch put him in the hospital. |

45 year old George Foreman. Wearing the same trunks he wore when he lost to Ali 20 years earlier. Reclaiming the heavyweight title. It happened. http://rossboxing.com/images/woodchop1.jpg View Quote Well, power is the last thing to go on a fighter. Tyson gets my nomination for sickest freak of all time, but he would've lost to a prime Holmes, Liston and possibly Ali. There, I said it. |

No love for Evander Holyfield...who beat Tyson 2 times? He was an artist of pain.

Arturo Gatti, there was zero quit in that guy. View Quote This, he may not have been the best, but he did not have one bone in his body that would think of giving up. I am convinced he would fight to his death. In terms of showman ship, Roy Jones Jr. His grab the ropes behind his back knock out I will never forget. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPU5qFJAJGg Antonino Barrera was great too. |

A powerhouse the likes of which the world won't see again. Larry Holmes. The surgeon. Like there was a bullseye on his opponent's left eye. |

Mohamad Ali.
I was 17 or 18 when I met him. Nice guy to the neighborhood kids. One of his ex-wifes lived in the next town over. This was before cell-phones but a girl in that neighborhood had a CB radio and broadcast it out and me and a few others got there first while he was out shooting the shit and signing autographs with the kids. |

While Iron Mike was a ferocious fighter, and a lot of fun to watch, Ali would have mopped up the floor with him when he was in his prime.

I'm going old school on this one and its a bit of a tie.
Jack Dempsey is my favorite I guess simply because he was such an indestructible brawler. But Jess Willard is right there with him for me even though Willard lost to Dempsey. Willard was the largest heavy weight fighter to ever box at his time and even today, at 6 foot 6 and a half, and 240 lbs, he's the 4th largest to have fought. He grew up on a farm and could toss 500 lb hay bails around like they were toys. He was mammoth, and he had been the heavy weight champ for 4 years straight until Dempsey came along. In the first round Dempsey shattered his jaw breaking it in 13 places, he broke his cheak bone, broke his nose, sprayed 4 of his teeth across the canvas, broke 3 ribs, and gave him partial hearing loss. AND THAT MOTHERFUCKER KEPT FIGHTING FOR 2 MORE ROUNDS. To say Willard was tough is the grossest understatement. It was so brutal that the crowd was begging for it to end. Willard finally conceded on his own without the ref pulling him. It is still the most brutal survived beating ever given or received in the history of the sport. Here's the fight: https://youtu.be/jvCHk_kKpVIGotta |

Dempsey's hands were encased in plaster of Paris. I have too many favorites. I remember when Freddie Roach was getting his ass beat. I still like to watch the old Mancini vs Bramble fights, Duran, Chacon,Zarate, Monzon, Mcguigan, Little Red Lopez, Arguello. Just to name a few

Julio Cesar Chavez , He holds records for the most successful defenses of world titles (27), most title fight victories (31), most title fights (37), and the second most title defenses won by knockout (21), after Joe Louis with 23. He also has the longest undefeated streak in boxing history with 13 years 89-0-0. In his prime he would've destroyed long distance runner champion of the world Mayweather.

Hearns, Hagler, Leonard or Duran.
