This is the 2nd annual Arfcom MLB bracket contest. Last year 23Pistol23 won, but no one picked the Giants to win the World Series. Last year's thread.
You can make a bracket here: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/fantasy/bracket-challenge/ Screen capture your bracket and upload the image to this thread. The rules are simple: 1 - You must upload an image of your bracket and post it in this thread before the first playoff game tonight at 8PM. (Entry closed) 2 - Whoever correctly picks the most brackets out of nine wins a NIW Pmag, autographed Jason Hammel baseball, and Craig Kimbrel baseball card. 3 - The tie breakers are: whoever picks the World Series champion correctly, the number of World Series games correctly, and whoever entered first, in that order. Entries: WitticalThinking (Royals in 6): 8/9 - Winner p226guy (Royals in 5): 7/9 Bedouin2W (Royals in 7): 7/9 Stephen7942 (Cubs in 6): 6/9 Dagger41 (Jays in 6): 6/9 Kalahnikid (Royals in 7): 6/9 Dan_shoe (Royals in 6): 6/9 M4A1Carbine (Cubs in 7): 5/9 J-Lock (Cubs in 6): 5/9 CarbineDad (Cubs in 5): 5/9 dsroten (Royals in 5): 5/9 245PDG (Cubs in 5): 4/9 Speedie (Cardinals in 6): 4/9 motown_steve (Cardinals in 5): 4/9 DeltaAir423 (Pirates in 6): 4/9 NorthBridge (Astros in 7): 4/9 lichter50 (Dodgers in 6): 4/9 Glenzo (Cardinals in 6): 4/9 benw8887 (Jays in 5): 3/9 ChrisGarrett (Dodgers in 7): 3/9 chewdawg07 (Pirates in 7): 3/9 HarrisAR15 (Rangers in 7): 3/9 G_S (Cardinals in 6): 3/9 SeanTX (Cardinals): 2/9 Bennjammin (Rangers in 6): 1/9 IRGRUNT0311 (Rangers in 6): 1/9 My entry: I'm picking the Cubs to win for the first time since 1908, in 7 games over the Jays. |

Can't print screen on my little Chromebook, but my bracket looks just like yours except Mets over Dodgers and Jays over Cubs in 7.

Hey, thanks for the IM. I'm at work till 1630. I'll try and get a bracket up after work, hopefully before the game starts. If not, I'll state right now, the Astros are going to win.

I went through my closet and found this year's prizes to include with the NIW Pmag: a baseball autographed by Clubs starting pitcher Jason Hammel, and a Craig Kimbrel "rookie saves record" Topps baseball card. Still plenty of time to get your picks in. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t372/02vettez06/D3C51318-7BCF-4690-A79D-2A4C266A33AD_zps0xokzwqt.jpg View Quote is your bed sheet or table cloth an omen? Take solace in the fact that your brackets are identical to mine except that I have the Cardinals in 6 to your 5. Given my history of predicting pretty much anything sports-related, the Cards will be swept in the NLDS |

View Quote I don't either, but thank you. Reality doesn't mesh with my hopes on this one. I picked them to get past Toronto but can't see them getting past KC. LOL at anyone picking the Cubs over StL. |

View Quote Sunday's game with Hamels pitching was a thing of beauty. Really miss Darvish. Not much love for Hamilton when he left here. In the press conference when they announced he was coming back his first words were something like "we've all done things we wish we could take back" etc. Since they got him for essentially minimum (MLB) wage he has done fine....other than chasing every low curve ball of course. |

Serious question, is anyone that's picking the Cubs to win it all not a Cubs fan or only picking the Cubs because of Back to the Future 2?

View Quote I'm in no way a Cubs fan and had forgotten that BTTF had them winning this year. I picked them to win for a few simple reasons: This time of year is all about momentum (think Royals last year). The Cubs have won 14 of their last 18 games. A lot of the other teams have losing records over over the last 10-15 games. Jake Arrieta, he will win games, no explanation needed, but I'm still upset Baltimore got rid of him for a Scott Feldmen rental. Young power hitters, and maybe the best top half of the line up in the playoffs (Dexter Fowler, CF, Kyle Schwarber, RF, Kris Bryant, LF, Anthony Rizzo, 1B, Starlin Castro, 2B, and Miguel Montero, C) An experienced manager who can make the right calls in tough situations. It's hard to believe, but they actually match up well and have a series shot. It all depends on tomorrow night, but you couldn't hope for a better SP for a 1 game playoff, so they will have a serious advantage. |

And I'll admit I'm a lifelong fan, I had no expectations that they would finish anything over .500 this year. But it seems like maybe the combination of talent, knowledgeable manager, and a touch of 'youthful ignorance' has helped them get to this point. |
