The United States has around 433,000 in the combined active duty and reserve Navy.
But, according to these dudes, there are over 49 MILLION anglers in the United States. With a number that vast, any country considering a naval assault against the United States better beware. An angler behind every reed.

Put all the deer hunters together and I think you have the second largest standing "army" behind only the Chinese. Further, to put this in perspective: On ice fishing opener, Lake Mille Lacs is the third largest city in Minnesota. |
