And, no, guys you shouldn't take your IED training kit in your carry-on bag.

Yes, that's a cannon.

The organization allows individual tsa agents free willy nilly to all confiscated goods that are not illegal in nature (prohibited in air travel is different than illegal)

And how many of those are actually confiscated from bad guys with nefarious plans, vs idiots who forgot or just didn't know you couldn't have one in your carry on?

According to these Stats there were 659 million folks on domestic flights last year so 0.0003% of passengers had unchecked firearms.  Sounds like a cry for TSA funding to me.  Wonder how many of those were LEOs or Feds too.  Much ado over nothing and getting TONS of media attention.

yep, we 'need the TSA to keep us safe'

I highly doubt any of these were going to be used for an illegal act on the plane or in the airport.

Remember, the Left only believes in statistics when it benefits their cause.

Example is the Lefts treatment of Islamic terrorism vs mass shooting incidents.

Islamic terrorism are "isolated incidents" that do not represent the whole religion. While a mass shooting proves guns are a massive threat to our society and must be regulated, if not eradicated.

Of course, as we know, liberals are fucking morons.

I got a call Monday from our airport security personnel that TSA had a guy w/ a loaded mag on his person in security.  Drove clear across town to get to the airport to handle what they should have done in The first place.

"Sir, is this your Glock 19 mag?"
Yes sir
"Why is it here (in the airport)"
I forgot it was in my bag.  I have my CCW in the checked baggage.
"Where are you going?"
Las Vegas, Im going to SHOT.
"OK (then to TSA guy) what do yall normally do with this?"
(TSA) You can charge him with it, confiscate it, or give it to him to take to secure in car.
"Ok.  I like the car idea.  I will escort him to his car"
Have you run a Criminal history check on him?
"No.  There is no need to "

Walked with the guy back to his car, shot the shit about using the 19 for CCW, and made friends with a guy who does gunsmithing here for SAS work
CSB TLDR- I was nice to a guy who forgot property on him.

I've been to the "store" here in Austin. They also sell used police cars and office furniture and equipment from government offices around the state.
They have lots of other interesting confiscated items - lots of snow globes because they exceed the liquid quantity limit, I suppose.
It's a very interesting place to browse. I assume that there's unclaimed items from various sources and anything else that might have been in the
government's hands for one reason or another.

You didn't answer the question.

My answer, to your question: Yes.

Why? Because I would have mine & that is all I need concern myself with.

I'll take my chances with a scenario where I at least have an equal or better chance to prevail in the given circumstances.

Why are their armed Air Marshals on flights? Not every flight though so they can't protect every flight in the air.

Freedom is threatened when people trust the Government over their fellow man.

What happened again on the flight that crashed out in PA? I'll take my chances with my fellow countrymen trying to do "something" in the face of certain failure when "nothing" is done.

That's a weak ass argument to use that flight in PA. Guess those guys didn't need guns to do what they did, did they?

Federal LE's have forgotten about guns (resulting in their theft) countless times. The news articles are out there if you want to sound less ignorant.

Is there an Air Marshal on every flight?

No?

Then any argument based upon them guaranteeing my safety is void.

What people get to have on an aircraft should be completely up to the airline. There is no legitimate basis for these laws under the authorized powers of the Federal government.

I work around average gun owners every day. Amazingly I'm still alive, and I do it again every morning. Maybe you should try not sounding like a scared little girl for five minutes? It might grow your character.

Typical arfcom retarded comments. You disagree with someone so they're suddenly a liberal plant.

Where did I say "most" gun owners are idiots? There are enough of them that I don't see that they need to be carrying on a plane. Thousands of flights per day in the US, how many have needed a gun? We can point to 9/11/01. Over 13 years ago but those flights were half empty and the odds of having someone with a CWP are pretty slim.

Exactly.

I smell Liberal Derp... Did someone step in something?

I love it when people argue the blatant liberal scare tactics of "Most Gun owners are idiots", while being Gun owners themselves... Hypocrites gotta Hypocrite.

"I want Laws for other people but not myself to protect me from them."

& Sparky, you still haven't answered my question, but that's OK. I now see you can't rationalize it properly due to a mental blockage of some sort.

Are you seriously suggesting that would be blood and mayhem if the requirements for passengers were completely up to the airline, as it should be?

That fallacy has been said about every single restoration of the bearing of arms. It has proven false 100% of the time.

Idiots are to be expected with humans, no exceptions. There are idiot pilots. Idiot Air Marshalls. Idiot TSA screeners (but I repeat myself). Idiot passengers. And I don't care. That's called humanity, and you aren't above it. Not living under tyranny means putting up with a few idiots.

And yes, you are a liberal plant. Or just a liberal who happens to like guns (but not gun owners), which is worse.

PS: Nice job trying to downplay 9/11.

Before you edited, you stated that 3,000 people died on 9/11. Not sure where you were going with that. Very few were on the planes and could have made a difference.

Not sure how I'm "downplaying" 9/11.  Not hardly. I'm just stating that the last time someone may have needed an armed person on a plane was then, The planes were half empty and the odds of someone being armed on them is pretty low. In the meantime there's been hundreds of thousands if not millions of flights and billy bad ass the pistelero from Texas hasn't been needed. For that matter neither have the air marshal's.

A liberal plant? You think I've been here for 10 years just waiting to act? LMFAO, Thanks for supporting my argument that some people have a screw loose.

Even your argument is pure steaming bullshit.

If every person on an aircraft was armed no one would pull a stupid stunt like trying to hijack the plane. The lack of anyone armed on an aircraft makes it a soft target, assholes like those who hijack aircraft only go after soft targets. Why are we making things easier for them? The feels man, it's the feels.
