Palin's tax-and-spend platform is a matter of public record, and is open for all to see...

"She successfully pushed for a law that raised taxes on oil profits to 25 percent from 22.5, winning passage in the State Legislature in November 2007." Link

You can spin it any number of ways... Conservatives cut government, cut socialism, and cut social spending. Liberals raise taxes.

Sarah Palin raised taxes.

You can say that social payouts for votes are different in Alaska than they are in Detroit or Chicago or New York or California... The truth... Conservatives cut government spending, they cut the size, role, and reach of government. They cut social spending, social programs and socialism. You can spin it any direction you want...

Sarah Palin raised taxes.

Conservatives find a way to cut government... Even weak conservatives try to find a way to cut socialism and the size of government before raising taxes... Link

But at the end of the day... Palin promised social programs to voters on the backs of taxes on others... At the end of the day...

Sarah Palin raised taxes.

I "like" Palin... And agree with her politically...

The problem is with folks who hold her up as a litmus test... Her tax-and-spend platform as governor makes her a weak, weak caricature...

That is why liberals would thank their lucky stars if she ran... The first thing they would say is, "Give her an open mike...RFN... Get her to say, 'Taxing the wealthy to pay for socialism is ok in Alaska but not anywhere else.' Hurry, someone hand her a microphone, and start asking her questions..."

Palin is the liberals wet-dream candidate. It is who they hope and pray for...

If Ted Cruz is serious about running , she needs to respectfully bow out and not take any of his primary votes.

There is no way I'd vote for Palin over Ted Cruz. She is a great person though, regardless.

She's unelectable due to character assassinations from the left.  The best thing for her is to take a cabinet position in a R Administration and do well.  Then we can revisit this.

We could do a lot worse.

DES MOINES — Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin told The Washington Post in an interview Friday that she is "seriously interested” in running for the White House in 2016.

This is how it works people..

This is the cocktease some candidates will play.  If they know that they're NOT going to run, you don't say No at this time, otherwise you'll piss away all the free media attention.

So you say "interested" or "haven't ruled out" a Presidential run.   Media whores will hound you.  You'll be able to sell tickets and demand speaker fees at all types right wing events.

This is a good time to publish a book and do other self promotions as well since your name is still in the spotlight.

By the time the first primary debates roll around you have to be 100% in or out.  Once you say you're out, game over.  No more free publicity until the next election cycle.

Not a syndrome...just tired of fucking panty waisted liberal minded Republicans running the fucking country into the fucking ground.    And what the fuck is wrong with making money.   I have never given the woman a dime of mine, but I applaud her for getting as much of it as she can.   I believe she is a patriot, similar to Chris Kyle, who was making money as well and continues to make money after some fucking loon shot him in his back.

Sarah Palin has the nuts to stand up and question Obama...there are many of us out there yelling as well.  She just happens to have a microphone and a camera.   She speaks for me....she likes the things I like....she loves the constitution....she is a redneck.....she loves her country....she loves her family....she loves the outdoors....she gets her hands dirty.....she fishes....she hunts....she shoots guns.....she has an accent like most rednecks.....she is a christian.....she does not apologize to anyone.....she has been proven correct on more than one occasion to know what she is talking about....she respects our troops.....she fucking pisses the liberals off.....

If she does manage to get the nomination, I don't want to see a single thread telling us Libertarians how we are throwing our votes away.  Palin would lose the general worse than Jeb Bush.  All of these threads with either Palin or Cruz or Romney as president are herp derp fantasy.

The nation isn't divided into two teams the way the Rs, Ds, and media present it.  Most people don't hold themselves to a party line, most people don't believe in the platforms full of bullshit offered up by the major parties.

Many here say they vote Republican only because they are "pro gun," or "anti-FSA," yet they assume that someone who votes Democratic does so because they agree with the entire Democrat platform.  Many people are single issue voters, they might hold their nose and vote D for any number of reasons.  Many don't vote for the D, they vote against the R, typically over their policies on social morality.

You have Republicans, Democrats, and Everyone Else.  You can't win an election with just one group.  You need a candidate who can, if not appeal to everyone, at least not deliberately piss everyone off.  Hyperpartisanship is not the way forward, and this whole fuck sandwich is why George Washington was against political parties from the start.  You need to stop deliberately trying to "piss off liberals," and start playing fucking checkers because you've lost at chess.

Unless Rand Paul miraculously gets the nomination I'll be voting L again, not because I agree 100% with the party platform, but because I believe a proper government lies somewhere between here and there, leaning more towards "there."

Sarah Palin pulled McCain's ass out of a crack when his campaign was foundering.  She had a down-home, folksy demeanor that people could connect with.  She had a proven record of accomplishment which included bucking the establishment to work for the citizens.  Inasmuch, the liberals saw her as the threat she was so, they opened up on her with all they had, and if they didn't have it, they made it up (Tina Fey).  When that didn't work well enough, they went after her daughters and DS son.  Even after the election, she was a lightning rod for liberal smears, mud slinging, Olinsky tactics and even lawsuits.  It was likely NECESSARY for her to resign.

Palin is the only principled, non-establishment political personality I've seen in a long time.  She knows right from wrong and has the discipline to do it.  I'll take a little "youbetcha" over "hope and change" or any of the rewarmed RINOs.

Sarah Palin raised taxes on oil to allow Alaskans to avoid an income tax. That is it. Pure and simple. After all it is our oil. Oil pays for everything in Alaska.
Our Constitution states that we own the resources, we can do what we wish with them.

GD seems to have forgotten that her whole fucking family got in a brawl a few months ago, starred on a reality TV show, and her daughter acted pretty 'tarded in her choice of sperm donor. (Note: there have been dozens of threads berating other people over these same things over the last 6 years in GD, in case you missed them)

But let's gloss over those issues 'cause GUNS, 'MERICA, and...Oh something shiny on Sarah's shirt by her tits!

Holy shit GD is all moist in the panties for someone that is even less electable on ANY state level than the most popular Libertarian candidate in any state-wide race, yet they think that she's electable on a national scale.

Yawn. I would say wake me when she arrives on the national stage as a real candidate, but I'm sure I'll hear that Hummer limo pull up so don't bother.
