I wish they'd make that with a lightweight barrel instead of the M203 profile.  I hate that barrel profile.  Shave it down, the gun looks better and save a few ounces.  Ounces that would be better served going towards an optic, charging handle, ambi controls or anything that's actually useful on a civilian AR.

I think its a great idea and I'm glad to see a manufacturer as big a Colt doing it.

At $799 for some the LE lightweight, I would be interesting to see what the price will be.

They probably included the grip just to hold the safety detent and spring in place.

If it saves you $100 or so off of your typical 6920 it'd be worth it.

$793 MSRP. That's a street price of about...what... $650? That sounds like a good deal for people that change out the missing parts.

This. Based off the 6720 it would have been even better.

$650 for a stripped down 6920, or $600 for a new PSA AK.

Hmmm.

That's cool, and I like that they actually use a cut-down FSB.

The AR-15s in Escape from New York didn't have hand-guards, it only took Colt 24 years to catch up to John Carpenter.

I just looked at the wholesale price from Acusport.  $650 is below wholesale.

$800 for an unfinished medium quality AR is not appealing.

Great idea, just over priced.

Unforeseen affects?
18 U.S. Code § 921 - Definitions

(7) The term "rifle” means a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of an explosive to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger.

Now that is interesting. As an FFL it makes me wonder how I would transfer it. Rifle or Other?

Would imagine rifle, since it already has a 16" barrel attached to the receiver.

Pretty much that.  I'm a bit of a Colt fan, but I don't kid myself that he won't shill for the highest bidder (not that he is alone in that respect).

Good concept anyway.  Even if it's $100 less, it'll draw buyers.  If they were really on the ball, though, they'd ditch the M4-style barrel and go with the lightweight.  Those are the "in" thing right now.

Key part is though it came from the factory without a stock. Even with a 16" barrel it doesn't automatically make it s rifle. Like the mp5 pistols that came in with 16" barrels, 100% foreign made and classified as a pistol because it had no stock.

But he won't put his name on shit that might hurt his credibility.  If he was wearing a Tapco shirt no one would ever take him seriously again.

They are all pimps.

Every single one of them will advertise or endorse or do a cat walk for the right amount of money.

I agree. The missing components are the cheapest.  How much does a stock, handguard and trigger guard cost in bulk?

Not much.
